Some divisions between different areas are movable thus the areas could be divided as well as connected depends on the occasion which brings the most flexibility. On the other hand, to enrich the variation in the office, the icon of art gallery is adopted into the space. Article source: Zaha Hadid Architects

The Nanjing International Youth Cultural Centre harnessed the energy of the 2014 Youth Olympic Games to create a project with a lasting legacy that has enhanced and also regenerated its setting – acting as both an anchor and a catalyst for future investment in Nanjing’s Hexi New Town.

Comprised of two hotel towers that include the new Jumeirah Nanjing, a cultural centre with conference facilities, an urban plaza, offices and mixed-use areas, the development initially provided accommodation for the 2014 Youth Olympic Games. Now in its legacy stage, the centre has fostered investment in Hexi New Town on multiple levels; integrating additional infrastructure with new functions that include the hotels and a venue for Jiangsu Province’s annual conferences.

Living in an era of great changes today, people experienced life from poverty to affluence, but the subjective well-being has not been promoted correspondingly. On the contrary, modern people become more restless and uneasy, which is due to the lack of calmness in the heart; and this calmness can be gained only after hustle and bustle fades away. Only when the material is reduced to the essence can it lead to its spiritual level, which is the goal of this project.
