Villa Sundaram in Nayarit, Mexico by RVO Studio

Spaces, atmospheres, textures and light are the four key concepts to approach the Sundaram House project, concepts that merge into an architecture so simplistic and imposing that it is a paradise to inhabit.

The spaces are methodically distributed in three levels that contain two residential areas; one for the owners of the house and another one for their guests.

In the main area the garage and a front garden are found, perfect exordium for the living hall that welcomes its visitors and thus, start the tour to the kitchen, dining room and a covered terrace with a pool in a central garden and outdoor cinema , a guest room, laundry, two main bedrooms connected by an extensive corridor and a study-terrace that offers an incomparable view of the natural landscape of the mexican jungle.

Planning spaces from natural resources seems to be easy. In this case, tropical climate and terrain unevenness have worked in favor of the creativity and talent of RVO Studio, an architecture firm led by Raul Velazquez, who takes chances using local elements in order to bring personality to each and every of his projects.

Casa Lunamar in Nayarit, México by José Vigil Arquitectos

The project of this house was developed in two volumes connected by a large open courtyard that takes advantage of the presence of a magnificent tree. The field is elongated with south view so the program distributed the family volume in 3 bedrooms at one end and the guests volume in the other.

The proposal is the result of a process that is based on three variables which together articulate and give the narrative to ideas. The first responses how to adapt the piece to the land being consistent with their morphology to achieve better orientation, privacy and views in greater depth of field.

The second has to do with the idea orientations to analyze the context that we find in the background, it means, the distant views of the mountains where we find the similar lines between the mountains and rooftops.
