DAAD Architecten has designed a new sheepfold, with a pitched barn and wool studio, in Balloo in Drenthe. The site, which was ruined through a fire, on the edge of the Balloo es [heightened plots of farmland, specific to Drenthe], has been developed into a public, central green, with spaces for education, information and art.
De Heelmeesters is the new workplace for three Amsterdam care organisations; Blijf Groep, HVO-Querido and de Volksbond. The offices are part of a larger housing project in Watergraafsmeer.
Goeree Overflakkee is a peninsula in the South of the Netherlands. Here, small-scale agricultural use meets the dunes. The spacious building site is located on a shallow dyke on the transition between those very different types of landscape. Looking east one sees meadows and fields. Towards the other side there are windswept trees and dunes. One this site family R decided to built a house for themselves and their numerous children and guests to spend weekends and holidays.
Collection Building is an art depot open to the public. A public route zigzags through the building, from the lobby on the ground floor where a café can be found up to an exhibition space, sculpture garden and restaurant on the roof. On the way up the route passes along and through art depots and restoration workshops. In depots visible from the route, the exhibition can be changed on a daily basis by simply moving storage racks so each visit to the building can offer a unique experience. On three floors the route passes through exhibition spaces which will be programmed by Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen.

Uitdam is a small, picturesque village at the banks of the IJsselmeer. The clients found a small house to be demolished, next to the church and the dyke, just big enough for a new dwelling for two. Shape, materials, dimensions and the slope of the roof were almost fixed from the beginning. The spatial rules in the area are very strict, as the inhabitants of the region, the municipality and the tourists wish to protect the fragile, historically grown cultural landscape with its present consistency and small-scale beauty.
stair leading the visitor up to a height that allows an unhindered view of the horizon and the nearby skyline of Rotterdam. The path makes a continuous movement and thereby draws on the context of the heavy infrastructural surrounding of ring road and tram track. While a tram stop presents the end or the start of a journey, the route of the stairway is endless.
A radiotherapy satellite location was developed for Instituut Verbeeten next to the Amphia Hospital in Breda. The new building and its two radiation bunkers cuts traveling time for patients living on the fringes of the catchment area. A healing environment is the main design principle. Patients experience daylight at every step of their treatment. The shell around the building creates various patios in the waiting and treatment rooms. It forms a filter between the outside world and the building, creating a feeling of openness and privacy.

The Flehite Museum, although modest in floor area, treats its visitors to magnificent historical and contemporary works of art. In Amersfoort, Flehite is a big name, but despite this fame, the museum remains true to its setting: everything it presents through its permanent displays and changing exhibitions is dedicated to the (art) history of Amersfoort. A city, which is celebrating its 750th anniversary this year! Opposite the museum building is the Mannenzaal (Men’s Ward), the only remains of a late medieval hospital in the Netherlands, where the sick and elderly were cared for. It now is a prominent part of the Flehite where changing special exhibitions can be visited.
Plot 3A is part of a large urban redevelopment project on the Oosterdokseiland in Amsterdam. The master plan was drafted by Erick van Egeraat. Its concept is characterized by radials enabling the widest possible view of the water. The construction is a complex of 25,000 m² of shops, offices, social housing and luxurious apartments around a courtyard, enclosed by walls 10 floors high. The model garden is a green oasis of tranquillity between the quay and the railway line.
The former Kralings Museum at the Hoflaan has been transformed starting in 2010 into a luxury apartment building. The building contains three apartments with a communal entrance and an elevator that offers access to the upper floors. The Casa K project involves the street level apartment which consists of two layers: a ground floor of 195 m2 and a basement of 90 m2. The apartment has a garden of over 600 m2 .
