The enormous square has been re-duced considerably by the addition of the new Fries Museum on the east side and a street front of housing and shops on the north side. BioPartner in Leiden, Netherlands by JHK ArchitectenThursday, January 30th, 2014Article source: JHK Architecten BioPartner Accelerator & Incubator are two buildings that were developed within a Design & Build construction for BioPartner Center Leiden by Dura Vermeer Bouw in partnership with JHK Architecten. Together the buildings provide 11,500 m² of office and laboratory space for starting or restarting entrepreneurs in the bio-technology industry. Flexible work areas have been realized that offer space and opportunities to companies involved in research into medicines and vaccines. Museum De Fundatie in Zwolle, Netherlands by Bierman Henket architectenWednesday, January 29th, 2014Article source: Bierman Henket architecten Museum De Fundatie in Zwolle, situated on the border between the mediaeval city centre and the open 19th century parkland with its canals, has been extended with a spectacular volume on the roof of the former Palace of Justice. The courthouse on Blijmarkt was designed by the architect Eduard Louis de Coninck in 1938 in the neo-classical style. De Coninck intended this style of architecture to symbolise the unity in the legislation of the new kingdom. In the Bovenkamer 24 studio’s are realised, twelve of which for former drop-outs, getting a few hours of professional guidance a week, while the other studio’s are for young professionals, acting as role models. With 475m2 office space the Buro offers the possibility for easy start-up of small enterprises. V’ House in Maastricht, Netherlands by Wiel Arets ArchitectsSaturday, January 18th, 2014Article source: Wiel Arets Architects V’ House was constructed for a couple that collects vintage cars, and is stitched within the medieval tapestry of Maastricht. The city dictates all new structures remain within the envelope of pre-existing buildings, and so a cut was created in the house’s front façade to generate a triangulated surface, which leads from one neighbor’s sloped roof to the opposite neighbor’s vertical bearing wall.
