Office 04 – Tribal DDB office in Amstelveen, Netherlands by i29 l interior architects

Friday, August 26th, 2011

Article source: i29 l interior architects

Tribal DDB Amsterdam is a highly ranked digital marketing agency and part of DDB international, worldwide one of the largest advertising offices. i29 interior architects designed their new offices for about 80 people.

With Tribal DDB our goal was to create an environment where creative interaction is supported and to achieve as much workplaces as possible in a new structure with flexible desks and a large open space. All of this while maintaining a work environment that stimulates long office hours and concentrated work. As Tribal DDB is part of an international network a clear identity was required, which also fits the parent company DDB. The design had to reflect an identity that is friendly and playful but also professional and serious. The contradictions within these questions, asked for choices that allow great flexibility in the design.

max62 – A Nuilding* in Rotterdam, Netherlands by Maxwan

Sunday, August 14th, 2011

Article source: Maxwan

* NUILDING  is pronouncesd as  newl-ding

I look out of the window of our office on de 5th floor of a sixties 50.000 m2 mail-order storage facility. I’m only 20 meters tall but almost nothing blocks my view. I can clearly see the cars on the lifted A20 highway, 500 meters from here, as it cuts through the surrounding industrial area. Further ahead of me stand the 3 Europoint Towers. A bit to the left, the infamous Rotterdam skyline, that somehow only impresses when seen from the Brienenoord-bridge shortly after sundown, during rush-hour, if the sky is partly cloudy … Immediately below and in front of me i see only roofs of halls. It seems that during the time this area was developed all work was done in 6 m high spaces.

Bonifacius School in Alphen aan den Rijn, Netherlands by Faro Architecten

Thursday, June 30th, 2011

Article source: Faro Architecten

Alphen aan den Rijn is turning into a real city. The developed Bonifacius location has also become an area with urban construction. The new Bonifacius school is the first step in the new urban plan that FARO is making for this part of Alphen.

The appearance of the building fits into the current urban architecture with a brick plinth under a light metal façade. The brick is enhanced with arcs: characteristic, recognizable and strong. The lighter upper façade has horizontal lines and contrasts with color and texture. Building the new school is part of the grander scheme for the Bonifacius location that also houses new apartments, assisted care residences, shops with a parking garage and, in the old school building a hotel or restaurant.
