Tandheelkunde Radboud University in Nijmegen, Netherlands by Inbo

Friday, September 22nd, 2017

Article source: Inbo

Project Description

Cross-pollination and encounter are key words in the design of the renovation of the Dental Sciences Building, part of the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the Radboud University and the Arnhem Nijmegen College. The renovated building combines theory and practice in education, research and patient care.

With a façade, a new central atrium and new installations, the building is making a sustainability transition aimed at energy saving, an increase in comfort, flexible use and a contemporary look. The right separation and connections between users, between practice spaces and teach and instruction rooms, changing and flexible use – including the longer term – and the choice of quality materials prepare the building for the future.

Knowledge centre

At the start of the new millennium, Philips Semiconductors (now NXP) wanted to expand its current production and research site in Nijmegen by creating a new knowledge centre for the development of semiconductors for the electronics industry. The existing production site is sealed off and fenced in for security reasons. The new knowledge centre, where technology, science, culture, work, living and leisure come together, fosters chance encounters and collaboration with diverse parties. The name of the complex, FiftyTwoDegrees, refers to the site’s 52nd degree of latitude, which like the ambition of the initiators, spans the entire world.

Wednesday, January 4th, 2012

Article source: 24H architecture

In the area Hatert, on the edge of the city of Nijmegen, the housing corporations Portaal and Talis organize a great renewal operation. Most of the current housing does not comply with contemporary standards or needs a substantial make over.
For this operation the city of Nijmegen worked in cooperation with the office of Khandekar towards a masterplan in which most of the present houses are renovated or renewed. Besides this upgrading, the open areas in the neighbourhood will be filled with several new housing projects.
