Article source: C.F. Møller Architects

The Danish Building and Property Agency has awarded the turnkey contract for the construction of a future government office hub in Odense. The building’s load-bearing construction will be built in timber and are designed by C.F. Møller Architects.

Based on the last and best offers from the three prequalified turnkey contractors, the Danish Building and Property Agency (BYGST) awarded the contract to NCC. Among other things, NCC’s offer describes good solutions for functionality and flexibility with respect for the interior design as well as for the technical installations which also benefit indoor climate and work environment. At the same time, the architecture considers the visions for the area, for example by inviting the public and future employees in the building to use the outdoor areas.

Friday, November 9th, 2018

Article source: C.F. Møller

The Technical Faculty is part of the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) in Odense, and constitutes a shared research and education environment for four different institutes. The building is designed as one big envelope consisting of 5 buildings connected by bridges at multiple levels crossing the heart of the complex, a “piece of furniture” containing common functions, meeting-rooms and café/lounge areas. The many connections allow for more fluid boundaries, and more community and knowledge sharing.

HF & VUC Fyn Complex in Odense, Denmark by CEBRA

Friday, September 21st, 2018

Article source: CEBRA

Danish architecture studio CEBRA has completed an adult education centre in the heart of the city of Odense, Denmark. Located next to the central station the HF & VUC Fyn complex marks an important step towards the realisation of a new city campus that ties the inner city and the harbour together. By combining elements from its coarse industrial neighbours with an embracing and transparent interior organisation the HF & VUC Fyn aims at bridging between the scale of the harbour and urban life. The building’s robust and unassuming exterior is contrasted by an inner spatial diversity of rounded forms that create a varied learning environment for 1.300 students – an inspiring and vivid school that continuously suggests new ways of use and makes room for individual learning needs in a collective building.

Article source: C.F. Møller Architects

The design of the new student housing for the University of Southern Denmark in Odense is based on a strong community spirit. The 250 student residences are located in three interconnected 15-storey buildings. This means that the residence has no front or back, but appears attractive from a 360-degree perspective. The building’s distinctive shape will make it easily recognizable on the campus, and clearly advertises its distinct residential content.

‘Dragen’ Children’s House in Odense, Denmark by C. F. Møller Architects

Wednesday, April 11th, 2012

Article source: C. F. Møller Architects

The integrated kindergarten ‘Dragen’ sets new standards, as a sustainable and pedagogically thought-through design. The components are largely ‘Nordic Swan’ eco-labelled. The construction is a certified passive-house, using a minimum of energy. And the children’s needs and well-being has been the main driver in the design.

The fundamental architectural concept is a simple and clear geometric form on two levels, with the children’s areas located in the best-lit southern end. The two levels are linked by staircases and ramps which are designed to stimulate and challenge the children’s sensory and motor skills.
