A square-shaped public square, defined by two porches and open to the football pitches. This will be the centre of the sports complex of El Morrot. This is also the answer to the contradictions between use and site: an industrial estate and a street with hardly any sidewalks.
This low-cost projectof anuncertain time frame and lots of good will starts as a pretext to redesign for the new use an empty commercial property, situated next to a restaurant of the same owner. The commission set out for us is to adapt a part of this property to be used as a terrace of the restaurant. The condition is that neither the pavement, nor the false ceiling (installed some months before) can be removed, in order not to compromise the unforeseeable future of the property.
The general object is the refurbishment and extension of the Secondary School ‘Garrotxa’ and its department for job-training enclosing new units of classrooms and workshops for training courses. Finally a new sports hall with multipurpose-character for social events completes the complex.
This project consists of an optic store in Olot (Girona, Catalunya) as refurbishment of an existing local. Although there was a very low budget (25,000) the idea of both the client and the architects was to propose an attractive look in comparison with the shops around.
