Paracas is a coastal-marine territory in southern Peru. Its allure resides in its unique archaeological heritage, desert landscapes and windy climate. Any architectural effort in this context is an open question on how to respond, or not, to these factors.
This house is located in an temporary housing development near to the Paracas Natural Reserve overlooking the Bay. The particular climatic conditions of the place are solved by laying a solid base that serves as a barrier for the strong winds of the afternoon. This allows to generate at the interior a sheltered and private garden. The base volume contains most of the program of the house and for each of these environments a small depth is raised in the facade for protection of the interior of the direct wind and to achieve an adequate privacy. The rhythm of these openings unifies the base and gives a clear reading of the composition. On top of this first level rises an almost cubic volume that stands out for its proportions and crowns the geometry of the house. This cube concentrates the main spaces as well as the circulations and connections with the rest of the house.
The project is a private beach house, located in the condominium Mast in Paracas, a 250 kms. the capital of Peru (Lima). It is in an area of 467.27m2 irregularly shaped front row with ocean view.
The house was designed for a friends married couple with two teenage daughters, construction has 448.90m2 and a free area of 186m2.
The house is built in a condominium located on the edge of the Paracas Natural Reserve.
This singular fact defines a double relationship between the house and the place it is located: on the one hand, with the condominium itself, is a man-made oasis, with shade, water, greenery; while on the other with the vast desert to which it opens across the borders of the property.

Our architecture is characterized by using geometric easy to recognize simple shapes that help create a clear picture of the house.
The premise in the development of this project was always keep the visual into the bay and keep the horizon present in every area of the house. We should place the functions so the spaces will connect visually, the transparency should be the primary axis of the first floor.
