‘Le Cinq’ in Paris, France by Neutelings Riedijk Architecten bv

Friday, August 24th, 2012

Article source:  Neutelings Riedijk Architecten bv

The 180 meter high office tower serves as the focal point for the east of Paris in the new urban development of the XIII arrondissement. The tower consists of five city blocks of only six stories each, cantilevered from two vertical cores with open space between the volumes. Each block has an open inner court and vast roof gardens. In this way, a new type of green urban skyscraper has been developed that combines the quality of a low-rise urban fabric with the potential of high-rise tower. The foot of the tower has a hotel and shopping center, as well as ten underground parking levels.

Paris Market Lab in France by Márcio Rodrigues

Tuesday, August 14th, 2012

Article source: Márcio Rodrigues

The central idea for this project is to preserve the existent building. We consider it as a crucial part of the urban fabric and his demolition would mean a huge gap in the Rue de Seine street facade.

Program
The program is the main point of Exploration since we are dealing with a pre-existance. In that way, we start to design a ground floor which establishes more relations with the city. The store has direct contact with the street and the class rooms are positioned in the ground level. The auditorium is one level below the ground along with the administrative areas. This is what we call “the daily uses”.

Between the Lines – 25 cradles Nursery in Paris, France by COMPLEET | Delbarre & Cabrera Associées

Wednesday, July 11th, 2012

Article source: COMPLEET | Delbarre & Cabrera Associées

How to synthesize a contextual, functional and aesthetic work through an architecture ?

The confidential characteristic of the Passage des Tourelles in the XXth arrondissement of Paris led us to imagine an opened equipment of proximity, a “breathing area” at the heart of a dense urban tissue.

The very particular presence of this nursery is expressed by a voluntarily marked architectural bias. An image shaped by the meeting of two entities where typologies, materials and asserted colours produce a reading which is simple, plural and sequential at the same time.

Roger Vivier in Paris, France by Marion | Compleet

Sunday, July 1st, 2012

Article source: Marion | Compleet

The purpose was to reconnect with the identity of Roger Vivier’s house in order to accompany the renewal of the brand that created, among other things, the stiletto heel in 1954.

The work was led in close relationship with Inès de la Fressange, director of the brand and Bruno Frisoni, artistic director. We aimed to give each room the prestige of Roger Vivier’s history and a contemporary design vision. Based on the Faubourg Saint-Honoré Street, the store spreads on 3 levels in a sweet and luminous atmosphere. Outside, the screen shop-window made of “priva light” let the ground floor appear through the frames of various windows.

Cräche rue Pierre Budin in Paris, France by Agence ECDM

Wednesday, June 27th, 2012

Article source: Agence ECDM

The project takes place into a heterogeneous district made of buildings of any sizes, of any styles, any periods. It’s an environment slightly old-fashioned, hybrid and disintegrated, typical of the heterogeneous architecture which characterizes the Parisian peri-urban zones. Modernity came to complete this disorder : Adjacent to the site, an out of size construction, built  in derogation of the property limits (adding a supplementary urban intention parameter),  forbids any common denominator, any possibility of creating a homogeneous composition. The day-nursery is thus an attempt, for a tiny building of public utility, to exist in an unfavorable relationship in the shade of a twelve story construction which takes light, overhangs and crushes everything.

Zac Claude Bernard in Paris, France by Dietmar Feichtinger Architectes

Thursday, June 21st, 2012

Article source: Dietmar Feichtinger Architectes

The building is part of a recently developed area in the North of Paris (19th district). The main façade – south – faces an urban boulevard – Boulevard Mac Donald. The new tram way under construction will serve the area in a few months. Next to the housing, a school group, offices and facilities have been built.

The main volume of the housing is 10 stories high and measures 45 x 32 m. A small patio lights up naturally the center. Shops situated on the ground floor and offices on the 1st floor complete the building. All apartments are double oriented and a generously outdoor space – balcony, roof, terrace or loggia – are provided for each apartment. The outdoor spaces enlarge naturally the living rooms and dining area. The loggias are about 10 m2; their dimension allows the comfortable placement of a table.
