Article source: Riofrio+Rodrigo Arquitectos RRMR

The relief of the desert hills, an extension of the Andes mountains that reach the sea, characterize the geographic space where the project is located. The proposal for this seasonal house sought to establish a direct relationship with the surrounding environment via the structure’s main volume and with the materials and textures used.

The Project´s basic idea was to have minimum impact in the natural setting. Having this in mind we planed the house to be felt smaller tan what it really is. Article source: v2com

The New Contemporary Art Wing Expansion to the Lima Art Museum located in the 19th century Exposition Palace, creates a strong architectural dialogue between the historical structure and the new expansion; they connect without touching. The project requirement to create a below grade expansion to the current museum without touching the historical structure below or above grade, resulted in a careful exploration of how to spatially connect these two buildings that cannot physically connect.

House in Paracas, Peru by Artadi Architects

Sunday, May 14th, 2017

Article source: Artadi Architects

The house is built in a condominium located on the edge of the Paracas Natural Reserve.

This singular fact defines a double relationship between the house and the place it is located: on the one hand, with the condominium itself, is a man-made oasis, with shade, water, greenery; while on the other with the vast desert to which it opens across the borders of the property.

Memory House in Lima, Perú by Chetecortes Architects

Friday, February 24th, 2017

Article source: Chetecortes Architects

When I say Beach, we can quickly see the blue of the sea under a clear sky, next to the warm sand, bathed in an intense yellow light that illuminates the day. The relaxing sound of the waves begins to whisper our ears, while our body begins to perceive a refreshing temperature, the wind passing.

We create the house, understanding first the reaction of the people to the previous text.

Article source: Riofrio + Rodrigo Arquitectos

The design objective of the project was to elongate the volume of the residence so as to take full advantage of the extensive plot. To achieve this, the traditional typology of a house-courtyard was reinterpreted thereby creating a succession of open spaces contained by the final building.

Casa LB4 in Piura, Perú by Riofrio + Rodrigo Arquitectos

Sunday, January 22nd, 2017

Article source: Riofrio + Rodrigo Arquitectos

This project was developed under the constraints given by the client and the extreme temperatures and climate in the city of Piura. In response to the client’s needs, a compact house was appropriate but in order to ensure the house remained cool in extreme heat, we decided to turn the volume to be parallel to the longest side of the lot. From here, cross ventilation was maximized and the house was protected against the strength of afternoon sun. The result is an elongated volume in the middle of the plot which enjoys the open space from all the rooms within the house. Finally, the terrace is a contiguous space to the larger but compact volume, thereby giving it a preferential position to the garden.
