Article source: PAUM design studio

The office for IT department of the PETSHOP company is located in St. Petersburg, on Chkalovsky avenue, in soviet industrial building of 50th – 60th years of the 20th century. Ridge ceiling and concrete columns more than 4 meters high, the top floor and huge windows overlooking the Petrograd Side – these are fine introduction of space for creative department of moderm dynamic company.

The aesthetics of Bauhaus (the higher school in Dessau and the architectural direction of the first third of 20th century) has become a basis of style and the main source of inspiration. Simple laconic forms, utilitarian approach and the ideas of functionalism once has made a revolution in architecture. Now we transfer this esthetics to interior design, but only its decorative part.

Wednesday, July 24th, 2019

Article source: AB CHVOYA

This is a big coastal development project for the historic Sevkabel factory (Siemens & Halske), situated on Vasilyevsky Island. The site is located in an industrial district, placed right between the street (Kozhewennaya linia) and the Gulf of Finland. Old red-brick 19-th century buildings of the Siemens & Halske manufactory coexist with and industrial facilities of the 70s of the 20th century on the same site.

These buildings are located in different Coordinate grids of the brick and concrete buildings differ from each other, and that diference creates complex, trapezoidal spaces between them. Dealing with an existing environment, we focused our efforts on the renovation and adaptation of existing buildings, as well as on the preservation of the industrial genius loci. This approach allowed us to emphasize the existing features of the site, including some of the industrial artefacts.

Vr Pavilion in Saint Petersburg, Russia by AMD

Article source: AMD

When we'd started to work on the pavilion we hadn't an instance of similar type of function in front of us.

The VR function was usually used as an complement in museums (as a bonus to the main exposure)

In our case, the task was to design a space exclusively for VR,to create a large VR attraction.

In addition to convenience, the architecture of the attraction should prepare for a new experience, strengthen the impression.

Made in China Cafe in Saint Petersburg, Russia by DA architecture bureau

Friday, May 31st, 2019

Article source: DA architecture bureau

Made in China is a modern Asian cafe in the center of St. Petersburg.

It is located in a historical building, many elements of which are protected by the state. This is why it was strictly forbidden to modify stucco molding, railings and stairs during the work on the project.

The main technique here was emphasizing the authenticity and historical heritage of the premises, turning it into a kind of shell for the elements placed inside.

High ceilings and the second tier also established some framework in respect of the freedom of planning decisions.
