Designing the new headquarters for ABF Developments was full of invigorating challenges. The first one was to represent a groundbreaking innovative company, focused on designing real estate properties that correspond directly to the customers’ needs and longings. Assuring that this rigorous public felt connection to the project’s language was one of the main purposes of the intriguing and appealing design and shape in the urban landscape.

Casa Bronze in Porto Alegre, Brazil by URBANAUTA

Wednesday, November 20th, 2019

Article source: URBANAUTA

The building, designed by the Cantergiani + Kunze architects office, houses two duplex units of 100m2, with double-height ceilings, apparent concrete finishes, and integrated environments. The solar orientation influenced the distribution of the spaces, such as the position of the living room and kitchen, facing southeast in a glazed façade. A set of metallic brises, re-reading the old muxarabis, offers some protection when the summer sun hits the façade and serves as a visual filter in the kitchen area.

Núcleo in Porto Alegre, Brazil by Ultra

Wednesday, October 10th, 2018

Article source: Ultra

The conceptualization of the Núcleo space arises from the brainstorm on the theme ‘Casa Viva’ (live home), bringing premises such as exchange, dialogue, coexistence and convergence.

Conceived through curves that embrace and lead visitors, the flowing and at the same time centralizing form integrates harmoniously into the environment. Its sinuosity in two dimensions gains strength and sharpness through its gradation of height in the third dimension and it is along its course that its different uses are developed.

In order to guarantee the protagonism of the central element, a homogeneous surface envelope is created, acting as a second skin, solving both functional and aesthetic demands.

Transcending the physical notion of space, Núcleo is therefore an experience to be lived and shared.

Article source: AMBIDESTRO

ATUM is a shared workspace that focuses is the quality of life at work. Designed in an area of 200 square meters, inside a mall, the space has as its theme the flexibility of different uses. All furniture was designed and thought to be changeable. During the day the scenario is a co-working and at the night it turns into a space to host events and lectures. The concept of quality of life was explored through creating different visuals for each workstation. Some tables were positioned facing windows with the park view, the other stations were proposed in a concept of green islands, whose plants are a mobile core surrounded by stands of different heights forming a modular composition. A natural wooden bookcase with 25m length serves as a background to the space. Different formats of workstations and lounges set the scene generating a timeless and innovated ambiance. Parallel to the bookshelf, a black linear block has been created with individual rooms, meeting room, support area and a mini gallery that serves to demarcate the main entrance. The layout designed aimed the sharing environments bringing a new way of working within a commercial space.

America Apartment in Porto Alegre, Brazil by 0E1 ARQUITETOS

Monday, January 29th, 2018

Article source: 0E1 ARQUITETOS

The America apartment was designed as a residence for a couple. The project sought to create a smooth transition providing the greatest possible integration between social-use and private-use environments. In order to achieve this, two main strategies were used: division of social and private functions in different floors and use of structures and furniture that provide flexibility and lightness in the division of spaces. In addition to the unconventional space organization, the client requested the use of residential automation technologies. In this way, the design challenge was established, which consisted in allying spaces and technology in a harmonic and discrete way.

Article source: Arquitetura Nacional

The building is located in the city of Porto Alegre. The traditional neighborhood is going through a transition process – the old houses are given way to small and medium sized buildings. The site is located on a corner with a very interesting view of the city and the airport. However, being at a high altitude level, it is strongly influenced by the municipality laws.
