„A change is a moment when you have the courage to think in a diferent way. Human needments are being changed at on unprecedented pace” Meble VOX decided to open up to a new form of trade in shopping malls. Designers from mode:lina architekci helped them to realize the idea of global creative thinking about the consistent VOX brand.
“Every year, in the beginning of May, the next edition of an experimental project called KontenerART begins. It’s an initiative of independent artists in Poznań – a place where you can relax, meet people and take part in whole creative process, learning new skills during many art workshops, concerts and exhibitions.
House on the Horizon near Poznan is a typical family house that has \”something more\” than a typical project. In a small surface of the building with double garage, designed T-shaped, there is comfortable space for a family of three or four. Living area (135 m2) consists of kitchen, dining room, living room, two bedrooms, a guest room (optional third bedroom), toilet, bathroom . A small area is organized very comfortably – day and night zones do not interfere with each other, and individual rooms with large glass panels give a sense of space and contact with garden.
“We are a family with little children, who will go to school soon.” This idea was a starting point to design a multifunctional house space, which brings together a lot of different duties – both school and domestic ones. The investor wants to create a friendly and functional space.
The idea of form is based on the light (its ubiquity through-clock, variable lighting conditions) and the clarity of assumptions – referring to the bright, noble side of sports and competitive sports.
The purpose of the project was the rearrangement of an existing house, characterized by a multiplicity of levels of the interior. It has up to 5 levels, with 90 m2 of the living space. The significant problems of this system were: communication nuisance and low penetration of natural light inside the residential space. The project was focused on natural light exposure improvement and bringing into it a high-quality artificial light as well as facilitation home program by moving the existing functional system. Ascetic design and bright colours of the interior made it possible to emphasise the experience of openness space.
“We have dreamed about the pinkest and most positive and open place in the world. COME CHECK IT OUT”
This incredibly innovative idea of combining a shop with a café is defned by an even more innovative and brave concept: that all the products sold here will be… pink!
This unique pink task was given to the architects from mode:lina studio, meanwhile the brand concept as well as the communication strategy was designed by the MINIMA studio.
The main reason for the extraordinary shape of the building was a narrow and triangular plot. Such a dynamic shape ought to be, in our opinion emphasized by a matching dynamic form. The plot is a wedge between two busy streets: Piątkowska st. & Aleje Solidarności st. and a tramway line. Paradoxically, vast number of limitations and prescriptions made the design process much easier. The parallels about the building looking like a vessel are funny on one hand, but quite accurate on the other. The form had to be “sharpen” giving the outcome of marine analogies. JET OFFICE is a shape and form, not a decoration.
“I don’t want winery, but a wine shop, where you can also have a glass with some tapas.”
That was new owner’s main goal. In Górczyn, Poznań, on 120m2 designers from mode:lina placed a wine shop with bottles from many different parts of the world, accessories department and a tapas bar with tasting area. You can come and buy just one bottle, try some chorizo or stay and become pro wine taster just for one day.
In 2007, when we set out with the competition for a design to modernize the castle we had one goal: to create a space where its recipient becomes its subject. So that those who find themselves within that space may feel it has been made bespoke for them. Functional and open.
Thus far, the castle had been different – it intimidated people with the labyrinth of rooms and the vastness of dark halls. With its immense programme and the appetite for even more activity, the Culture Centre suffocated in the heavy body of the neo-Romanesque edifice. Hence the need for a change – uncompromising, bold and comprehensive.
