The office building E is the very last piece of development completing the northern part of the BB Center complex along Vyskocilova (street) and a ramp to 5.května (street). So, towards the city centre the bldg. E closes the planned “protection shield” against the negative impact of city highway traffic on residential houses planned for the second phase of development. This part of the Prague-Michle district has now been revitalized, reintroducing the urban environment with multiple functions and restoring it the way it was before the highway – 5.května street – completely destroyed it.
Bath on Vltava is conceived as a closed rounded space, floating on the water surface. Floating object is accessible by the boat and it is not connected to the banks of the river. It is an island. We insert place for take a rest and meeting with friends during busy day in close distance to Strelecky and Slovansky Island, many small harbors with boats and treadles, but also streets overloaded with cars.
The proposal is based on these assumptions and instructions:
_a traditional, country-style house
_ main living area on the ground level
_attic only for partial (future) use
_achieving the effect of a “traditional” microclimate in the interior of the house
Richard Meier & Partners Architects is pleased to announce the construction of City Green Court which has recently started last September 2010. This is RM&P’s third building within the Master Plan of Prague 4- Pankrác that began almost a decade ago with a local Czech developer and named the CITY Project. Based on RM&P’s Master Plan of the superblock on the Pankrác Plains, this once neglected area of Prague has now been transformed into a multi-functional, vibrant and revitalized business, commercial, and residential district filled with green public spaces and amenities. City Green Court has been modified and re-designed to the new owner Skanska’s sustainability goals and high standards to achieve the highest level of LEED certification. The project has recently received a LEED Platinum Pre-certification.
