Presented apartment is situated in Prague Letna district in building constructed in 1938. The building is under protection of heritage department. Newly renovated office building in Prague was designed by Prague based studio VRTIŠKA • ŽÁK, together with a Brno based RAW ATELIER. The client is an international business company, focused on an environmental sustainability. This project purely reflects natural approach and materials. The goal was to create Dominant item of the building interiors is a 21m height vertical garden, where the plants are grown. The moisture system is computer controled. Another eyecatcher, once you enter the main lobby is a white polygonal „interior facade“ made out of laquered aluminium profiles. It gives to the lobby dynamic, yet calm feeling.
Wine Glass Shop RIEDEL is located in the very center of Prague, Na Příkopě street. The shop has excellent RIEDEL wine glass in its range of products. The task was to create an environment that will excel in the purity and beauty of the glass. Therefore, the materials are used in their original form, i.e. coarse and “imperfect”, which are in contrast to the perfect glass. Wall covering is made of oak wood, the niches with exposed glass are made of natural black sheet, the floor is concrete. The entire interior is complemented by a wall made of steel pins, where selected wines are placed and the entire space is dominated by a steel wall with a built-in wines. The area is illuminated by industrial lights that enhance the atmosphere. The shop is very often used for wine tasting.
Merging the Czech “chlebíček” and the traditional Basque pintxos, new and proud food-spot was created on the emerging Prague’s food scene. The restaurant offers a quick lunch for the busy day, as well as fine dining experience paired with assorted cocktails for the later eve.
From the original “boat” interior we only kept wooden ceiling and beams and gave the floors new coat of paint. The oak furniture wooden elements stand out thanks to monochrome interior, including the gemstone of the restaurant – Dry Ager – where the meat matures. The only colour elements that lit up the whole area are gold insides of the pendant lamps. The front wall is decorated with original graphic by Jakub Šejvl that refers to the origins of steaks.
Concept/colour scheme/materials – the aim is to create a manly interior, both with the colour scheme and the materials. Static modifications have already been implemented in the current space. Massive steel transoms were the right element for an ideal manly industrial. The position of these load-bearing elements defined the whole layout of the space. The steel elements have been supplemented with natural oak furniture, combed plaster and retro tiles.
When the chance to buy an apartment in the former factory ETA Regula arose for its prospective owners, they did not hesitate for a minute. After a long search of an apartment offering both interesting and atypical elements, and located in central Prague, this proved to be an ideal choice. Time management was perfect, and the arrangement with the developer was that the apartment would be made over as shell and core, meeting only the most basic approval standards. The owners also addressed our studio ahead of time, providing us with enough time to think about the project in detail. As soon as the owners were handed the keys to the apartment, we were ready to begin with the change
Two bedroom loft apartment with central staircase and two bathrooms.
Create a colorful interior was the criteria set out from client for the architect. Large glass windows are dominant for the space and that was determining for the choice of the colors. Blue as a sky and yellow as a sun. You can see these colors vary in the apartment in all their range from their subdued version in the entrance lobby to the darker blue in the bedroom referring to the evening sky and the dark red for the sun as it meets the horizon.
There she sits, in one of the hip cafes of Letna, the cool part of Prague. The friend who introduced us said she was a lawyer, but there is something different about her. Something that just doesn’t fit.
The space of a new reception and reception lobby Millennium spreads into an adjacent current shoe shop. Demolishing the wall between the two sections creates a space 100 m2, which became the subject of our proposal. It is the main entrance into the large portion of the building located between Masaryk Station and Marriott Hotel, which offers rental of office and retail space.
