OCEANA is a mixed-use condo hotel, focused on commercial, touristic and multi-family activity, which is located at the corner of 28th Street and Cozumel Street, a few meters from one of the most popular beaches of the Mayan Riviera known as “Playa Mamitas”. The main design intent is to generate a social environment in a green and pleasant place, at one of the most vibrant zones in Playa del Carmen.
This residence located in Tulum, aims to function as a retreat for a couple looking to get out of the daily bustle of the city and live in the Mexican Caribbean, enjoying the nature that floods the landscape of Tulum. The guiding axis of the design revolves around the customers’ passion, the experience that results from cooking, living and sharing with family and friends. The placement of the house is on the east side of the plot, taking advantage of the green buffer area that it has in the west, creating the feeling of greater openness of the natural areas, which are directly related to the interior spaces of the house, this being one of the main intentions of the project.
On the beautiful island of Cozumel in Quintana Roo, Mexico, this 1,325 sqm luxury residential project is located on a 5,200 sqm site with abundant local vegetation and 38 meters of beachfront, offering superb views of the Mexican Caribbean.
The project is based on the guiding concept of fully respecting the site and its existing vegetation, resulting in a design that reflects a clear unity between the contemporary language and natural surroundings.
Located in the jungle of Tulum, this space, like its sister house in Mexico City, makes a different statement than the other places around, it hides its entrance, just to bring it to the attention of those who are really looking for a different experience, keeping the line of the speakeasy.
In this space a succession of concrete volumes emerge from the ground to contrast with the vegetation creating a series of pavilions with a heavy material feel that at the same time can be felt light by its structure.
The concept was born with the intention of offering guests a space full of luxury and comfort, that provides a true escape from everyday life, with the main objective to disconnect and enjoy the wide range of services oriented mainly to personal relaxation and Leisure, which coexist.
Tulum is a city in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo, situated in the southernmost part of the Riviera Maya, one of the main international tourist destinations. It is located next to archaeological ruins of the Mayan city of Tulum, from which it receives its name.
The project “Una Vida” is located in the south region of Tulum, Quintana Roo, 10 minutes from the Caribbean beaches and in the middle of the tropical lowland rainforest. The location area is 3,305 sqm and it has an irregular triangular shape, which limited the distribution of buildings and common areas.
This project does not seek to replicate the typical southeast house (Mayan) but to achieve a modern version that is repeatable and easily constructed in time and cost, using materials from the region. The design promotes life in the inisde and also in contact with the outside, integrating it to its environment and giving continuity to the customs from the region, thus achieving sustainable housing through reuse of water; zero discharge; alternative energies and systems that allow to save energy and resources with the possibility of not being connected to any municipal network.
As one of the fastest-growing tourist destinations in the Mexican Caribbean, the paradise-like Playa del Carmen makes a great leap forward with the development of the Hotel Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen.
