Ostasilor 8 in Bucharest, Romania by TAG Architecture

Monday, December 4th, 2017

Article source: TAG Architecture

The building in Ostașilor 8 is located in a diffuse, traditional urban fabric of central Bucharest, in which the urban architectural, historical values and the natural environment are protected in their entirety, street texture and built environment alike.

The area has a high living standard and a scenic air and is located at the convergence of neighborhoods with diametrically opposite characters. On the one hand, the limits of the old city center and Cișmigiu Gardens (historically the oldest designed park in Bucharest) point towards a moderate, maybe nostalgic approach, on the other, the proximity of the new and controversial Uranus Boulevard, whose inception has caused a stir due to demolitions of old, derelict areas, pushes towards the exuberance inherent to any beginning.

Londra Housing in Bucharest, Romania by ADN BA

Tuesday, November 28th, 2017

Article source: ADN BA

The building occupies one of the few remaining lots in an old neighborhood of historical and architectural value in the central area of Bucharest.

The space-structure gives the urban presence of the proposed building a weight that counterbalances the extent of the glazed surfaces, while the retraction of the central span and the asymmetry of the cornice are aimed at dividing the house into two volumes closer to the neighboring scale.

Stefan cel Mare Building in Bucharest, Romania by Lauster & Radu Arhitecti

Sunday, November 19th, 2017

Article source: v2com

Until 2006 the site located at the intersection between B. Mumuleanu and Tunari Street was a neighborhood vulcanization shop for cars. Between 2006 – and February 2015 the site was empty and people were mistakenly using it as a place for garbage.

The building was commissioned by a private investor who was interested in revitalizing the zone and create a building that can house office spaces for rent. It was also desired to create a meeting point with the help of a fine restaurant, that displays one of the most exotic tastes.

Aaron Florian Housing in Bucharest, Romania by ADN BA

Friday, November 17th, 2017

Article source: ADN BA

Aaron Florian Apartment Building, is an honest answer to a particular urban setting: an irregular plot, the closeness of the opposite building raising privacy issues, a blind wall to a difficult neighbour and an inflection of the street. All these produce an atypical configuration – a building with floors successively recessed, the upper floors providing more light to the narrow street and the exterior spaces directing the views along it.

Rouge Nail Bar in Bucharest, Romania by Yellow Office

Sunday, November 5th, 2017

Article source: Yellow Office

Within Rouge Nail Bar’s second Bucharest location it was desired to revamp the former aesthetic (created by architect Corvin Cristian) by adapting and preserving a part of its already existing elements while also adding new features.

The location’s concept was taken from its name; NAIL & BAR thus creating a space in which nails wouldn’t be the sole service provided. In this way, a cosy and hip environment was created which can be utilised by patrons with whichever primary use they desire.

Doc – Temporary Floating House in Romania, Balkans by Lime Studio

Sunday, July 16th, 2017

Article source: Lime Studio

DOC intertwines the typology of a compact house – having a low environmental impact – with the specificity of a unique location: distributary channel Borcea . The location and the desire of a new type of dwelling – a floating, multifunctional, mobile house – imposed special and complex constructive conditions. The high water level variations of the river due to seasonal changes as well as budget conditioning have resulted in constructing a trailer like platform that can be relocated. The house is responding to site changes and changes with it. Mobility as the main feature of the construction dictated the simplicity of the designed space. Compact and with a simple, rectangular plan, the space gets a spectacular feel through the manner it integrates with the location, complimenting it. Amazing images are brought in everyday use through wide windows and patio. Although very open, the pontoon provides visual intimacy from the city through its positioning. Its multifunctionality of temporary housing and meeting point for water sports lovers opens up new perspectives and exploration angles for a forgotten and undiscovered area – the Danube river and the Calarasi area. The building process began taking into consideration the context, location and community by harnessing an existing and abandoned pontoon that has been adapted to current needs.

Article source: Re-Act Now

\”Entourage\” means firstly socializing but also what we want to become and leave behind us into a big marriage with the future.

We must take socializing on different layers as a positive game, first with ourselves. It is a game that helps us not being subordinated to some dogmas, it is a game that should make us expect to learn continuously… Also that we are in a continuous workout in this construction site of our souls .

Wigwam Offices in Bucharest, Romania by Razvan Barsan + Partners

Saturday, April 1st, 2017

Article source: Razvan Barsan + Partners

This project can be seen as a social experiment, along the lines of an emerging community that interacts and develops. The space is focused on people, teams and ideas and it is the result of a collective effort. The design uses custom elements in almost every object, from the design of office desks – glass and perforated metal, to lights that follow the shape of the desks, to the design of glazed surfaces that separate the meeting rooms from the individual offices, to the perforations that guide the eye along a dynamic, uninterrupted line.
