Apartments in Rouen, France by Dmitry Grynevich

For work we got a large room with a well-preserved stucco. The hosts wanted us to create eclecticism for them, but it’s unusual. In other words, we needed a fresh design with modern, branded furniture and a smart home system.

Headquarters Of Métropole Rouen Normandie in France by Jacques Ferrier Architecture

Wednesday, November 8th, 2017

Article source: Jacques Ferrier Architecture

The headquarters of Métropole Rouen Normandie is a unique, memorable and fitting image on the banks of the Seine in Rouen.

What makes it so unique is how the new building fits in with the surrounding landscape of Rouen. The building’s dynamic profile contrasts with the omnipresence of horizontal designs found along the major port, while its silhouette echoes the renovated industrial buildings on the right bank. The oblique shapes are reminiscent of the silhouettes of cranes and other objects in the port and the bows of the passing ships.

Rouen Convention Center in France by Stéphane Bigoni & Antoine Mortemard

Friday, January 6th, 2012

Article source: Stéphane Bigoni & Antoine Mortemard

Located in the ancient commercial harbor, the project focuses on the extension of an old storage hangar between the railroad tracks and the Seine River, allowing it to house an auditorium and exhibit spaces. In the middle of the building, a large mashrabiya captures and diffracts light. At night, the lattice becomes a lantern, emerging from the floor beneath the hangar’s frame. The auditorium sits partially beneath the old hangar, a concrete structure independent of the existing building frame. The surprise lies at the end of the room, however, when the back wall of the stage opens, and the harbor is invited to join the conversation – to a greater or lesser degree, depending on the rotation of the vertical blinds.
