When thinking about what kind of building would be perfect to create a space for contemporary culture, a power station comes to mind immediately! This is what RPBW found in Moscow: a magnificent historical power station built between 1904 and 1908. Thus, the GES-2 project transforms this building into a space conceived as an articulated experience going from visual to performing arts, passing through a civic free space destined for people.
V-A-C Foundation creates a social and cultural experience revolved around visual arts, performing arts, music but also science and sustainability.
The design for K31 Courtyard marries together two typical residential building typologies; a stepped podium which surrounds a private courtyard, and two towers that face each other diagonally in such a way as to provide the best possible view corridors for all the residents and enable increased daylight for the apartments.
The podium design, with its stepped terraces, is designed to provide sufficient sunlight for the apartments that face the inner courtyard. These stepped terraces also create a unique feature for this residential project, as they can be used for additional amenities for the adjoining apartments.
The apartment is located in Moscow in a new residential complex near Petrovsky Park.
The main objective of the project was to preserve the original space of the apartment with large windows. That is why the main areas (living room/kitchen and bedrooms) are located along the windows, and the utility rooms (closet, laundry room and bathrooms) are placed in the center of the space in the “dark zone”.
We wanted to preserve as much light and space as possible so we gave the living room/kitchen a bigger part of the apartment with four windows overlooking the courtyard, and the bedrooms got the area overlooking the park.
The architectural bureau Kerimov Architects designed the interior of the 200 sq. m apartment in the residential complex “Vorobiev House” (Moscow). The clients are a young couple.
The natural materials and light colors, used in the project, visually enlarge and expand the initially large space.
A secondary comprehensive school is located in the European Riverfront district of Novosibirsk, part of a large-scale redevelopment project realised by Brusnika company. Currently 30 houses have been constructed with over 7000 residents living there.
Being an essential social object, the school was integrated into the district’s structure at the stage of its master plan development. The building is located in the heart of the district so that its central entrance is at the crossroads of two major streets of the residential area. The school is well visible from a variety of vantage points and due to its large-scale plot features an important public space.
In 2014 the Ob riverside area in Novosibirsk was selected for redevelopment. According to the project, the existing industrial estate and fire station were to be replaced by several residential quarters. Brusnika is developing the European Riverfront, one of the plots along the Ob river.
The master plan of the quarter was designed by KCAP Architects & Planners. The European Riverfront is conceived as three clusters of blocks along the riverside and the inner street. The clusters are linked by public squares, each designed with a different character and dominated by a 25-storey landmark. Three towers Number 20, 24 and 28 are central elements to open public spaces in the housing estate composition, acting as navigation points for the pedestrian route along the river bank.
In the former industrial area of St. Petersburg, in the building of a former factory, with an abundance of bricks, metal structures and concrete, we have implemented a design project of an office of 300 square meters for a company that supplies engineering plumbing to self-service stores in DIY format. The office is designed according to the principles of an Agile office or a flexible office.
When planning a working space, creating an office interior design, our task was to create, firstly, all possible areas of staff cooperation: the academy zone, study rooms, media kiosks. In order to work effectively, employees must have access to training materials, product samples and other materials to help them understand the specifics of their work.
House by the Lake is a residential area project designed by the development company Brusnika in Tyumen, Siberia. The plot is located in the vicinity of residential clusters dating from the 1980-90s, random low-rise houses and modern housing estates. It is a promising area with well-developed social, commercial and recreational amenities.
The masterplan aims to develop the area as well as the lake. The key concept is living in the city while enjoying the countryside around. A small, shallow and boggy Tikhoye lake was much wider up to the 1970s, but affected by chaotic urban development, it gradually shrank. While designing the project, professional advice on the lake restoration was obtained from hydrologists, ecologists and dendrologists. Currently marshy parts of the shores and floor are being cleared, the area around the lake planted with new species, and the lake stocked with fish. According to the masterplan, the shores and the small park linking the quarter to the lake will also be landscaped.
The interior of the apartment in the central district of Saratov for a successful young man. A customer from a generation of young and motivated, deeply involved in digital technology. A young, active bachelor who works hard (his business in the IT field), travels a lot. He gave complete freedom of action and trusted our team and we can say “disappeared” and calmly waiting for the completion of the project. By functionality – combined kitchen, living room, isolated bedroom and bathroom. The bedroom was not ordinary due to the features of the layout – it has two entrances along the edges of the bed. A big plus of the apartment is that the windows face three sides, due to this there is a lot of natural light in it. The interior is dominated by dark colors of cold shades, which are consistent with a large number of concrete surfaces. The emphasis on textures plays an important role throughout the interior. Wooden decorative panels, which are visible from different corners of the apartment – warm light and wood give such a cool and dark interior comfort.
The bathhouse is located on the edge of the site, which occupies the northern slope of the hill, facing the lake. The building is partly hidden in the landscape. The main facade overlooks the site and the lake and is decorated with a gallery. The back wall is a fence along the border.
All rooms face the plot, except for the kitchen, that is located in the back and is illuminated by a skylight. The outer surfaces of the bathhouse are covered with an old darkened wooden planks, while internal surfaces, including gallery walls, are clad with a new light wooden boards. The steam room wall, made of calibrated logs, might be seen on the main façade. The roof is covered with natural grasses. The restrained color palette of the bathhouse is complemented by an accent metal column in the gallery, painted red.
