Muka & Fartuk in Yoshkar-Ola, Russia by STUDIO SHOO

Saturday, August 14th, 2021

Article source: STUDIO SHOO

Muka & Fartuk is a cozy cafe with breakfasts, lunches, freshly made coffee and at the same time a shop is offering a wide choice of sourdough breads, pastries, cakes and puff pastries.

The basis of Muka & Fartuk’s concept is the memories associated with bread from childhood or adolescence: to bite off the edge of a fresh loaf while running back home; the very first taste of a croissant, freshly baked grandma’s pies in the village. From all these pleasant emotions, the main slogan of the M & F was created – the happiest stories about bread. After all, everyone has their own, and they are certainly delighted.

The National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan in Russia by XOPA architecture bureau

Friday, August 13th, 2021

Article source: XOPA architecture bureau

The National Library of the Republic of Tatarstan is located in a building erected in 1987 for the Kazan branch of the Lenin Central Museum. The building, clad in Armenian tufa stone thus resembling the image of a waving Soviet flag, is one of the centerpieces of Kazan and a significant example of late Soviet architecture. After the collapse of the USSR, the National Cultural Center “Kazan” was located there, which also housed a Kazan City Museum until recently. The most notable achievement of the project, whilst being respectful to the material and spatial features of the original design, was to transform a somber and outdated structure into a vibrant and lively public space.

Collider in Moscow, Russia by CARTELLE DESIGN

Tuesday, August 10th, 2021

Article source: CARTELLE DESIGN

COLLIDER is a coworking space, event-hall and bar located on the territory of the former silkworm factory of the 19th century in the center of Moscow. The coworking space and bar were designed by the COLLIDER team. Daring loft-style solutions fully paid off in the coworking area, and the guys managed to create a cool space for work. But for the bar, the same stylistic choices didn’t work. The bar turned out to be gloomy and uncomfortable. We were faced with the task of redesigning the bar while preserving the overall concept and stylistic connection with the rest of the spaces. The new bar should be cozy, comfortable and combine the functions of a bar and a coworking space.

BC Action Development in Moscow, Russia by UNK project

Article source: UNK project

The new business center class A is in the 1st Zemelniy lane, not far from the «Ulitsa 1905 Goda» undegraund station, near Krasnopresnenskaya embankment and the business district Moscow City.

The business center project was developed by the UNK Project architectural bureau. A distinctive feature and recognizable element of the architectural appearance of the building is the openwork, grid-like shell on the facade. This principle is widely used in the progressive architecture of the 21st century and it also refers to the model of Soviet constructivism, reminding of the tower of engineer Shukhov. Triangular at first sight in cross-section building has no sharp corners. They are rounded and closed with a mesh structure that softens the appearance of the building.

Interior MFN in Saint Petersburg, Russia by INT2 architecture

Monday, May 24th, 2021

Article source: INT2 architecture

Apartment is located in the center of St. Petersburg not far from St. Isaac’s Cathedral.

The main task of the project was to preserve the original space of the main room of the apartment with large windows, therefore, all the main areas (living room, kitchen and bedrooms) are located along the windows and utility rooms and bathrooms are located along the blank wall.

We wanted to preserve the light and volume of the room as much as possible, so the living room/kitchen was given the central part of the apartment with two windows, and the main bedroom with a third window is separated from the common area by a glass partition, which helps to preserve the feeling of a common space.

Basmanny in Moscow, Russia by CARTELLE DESIGN

Wednesday, January 6th, 2021

Article source: CARTELLE DESIGN

One-bedroom apartment in Moscow for a couple. The main feature of the project is a single space of the living room, bedroom and shower room, separated by glass loft partitions. The apartment is not intended for permanent residence. Therefore, we took this bold step in order to create a modern and stylish home, where the owners can live comfortably and with pleasure during their frequent business trips to Moscow.

An apartment with a non-standard purpose required a non-standard approach. We tried to avoid the classic “roomy” layout and create an interesting space. This was done thanks to glass loft partitions. They separate the living room from the bedroom and the bedroom from the shower room, which creates a sense of one space.
