Article source: Peripheriques Architectes

Being implanted up to the plot boudaries and limited on a first floor level, we were able to clear and transform the central part into a large, airy and protected yard. The constructions on stilts form wide covered playgrounds forming real exterior volumes. The student residence is taking place above, expressed in a high leveled volume as to create a distinct identity.

70 HOUSING UNITS in SAINT-DENIS, FRANCE by PETITDIDIERPRIOUX ARCHITECTES

Tuesday, September 29th, 2015

Article source: PETITDIDIERPRIOUX ARCHITECTES

The project occupies the specific setting of a corner block that, in particular, provides it with an unobstructed view over urban Paris to the south as well as allowing it to complete the urban system established by Christian Devillers. There are two types of housing typologies: 16 individual townhouses and a building containing 54 collective housing units. The houses are laid out along green spaces and passageways that organize views over the rest of the block. The collective building has an “indented” form that allows each housing unit to profit from favorable views and generously proportioned exterior spaces.

Jean Lurcat High School Gymnasium in Saint-Denis, France by Mikou Studio

Saturday, July 6th, 2013

Article source: Mikou Studio

Jean Lurçat Collège in Saint Denis is at the junction of two basic fabrics: one landscape and one cityscape. An area of scattered low-rise detached housing which is unstructured but constitutes the neighbourhood’s identity and presents a friendly human scale on Rue Diderot and Rue d’Alembert. The Parc des Sports which opens onto the La Courneuve landscaped park and provides the school with an open perspective and a strong link with green spaces and gardens of the city. The school is both in the middle of nature surrounded by greenery and very near to the low-rise housing around it.

Commissariat of Police France by X-TU architects

Sunday, April 22nd, 2012

Article source: X-TU architects

Given the reduced program size and the location of the land parcel, the idea was to insert most of the program elements in a high vertical volume. Which set on a street angle will stand as an emblematic tower. The “special” elements of the program will have volumes of their own. They strain the composition from one end of the parcel to the other with glass walls. These spaces contain the ground floor and the first level and create a pedestal from where the rest of the masses stand on.
