Designers SpaceInvader have completed the 540 sq m ground floor amenity space for Novella, a new-build residential development on Stanley Street in Salford, facing directly onto the River Irwell and located within the vibrant new riverside district of New Bailey. The scheme has been created by client The English Cities Fund (ECF) – a strategic partnership between national developer Muse, Legal & General and Homes England, the government’s housing and regeneration agency – and forms part of ECF’s £1bn, 50-acre Salford Central regeneration. Novella is comprised of 211 luxury one- and two-bedroom apartments in a 23-storey landmark building by architects Hawkins\Brown and combines striking design with luxury amenities, including a 24-hour concierge and communal lounges, podium roof gardens and a residents’ gym and wellness suite.
The Green Rooms from Amro Living is a sleek, new, build-to-rent scheme located at MediaCityUK in Salford and offering a luxurious living experience surrounded by fantastic landmarks and a thriving neighbourhood. The design of the scheme’s extensive ground-floor amenity spaces is by Manchester-based architecture and interior design practice 74, who already have a strong reputation for award-winning student amenity spaces and are now bringing that expertise to the BTR (build-to-rent) market.
Manchester-based architects and interior designers 74 have completed the refurbishment of Building 3 at Salford’s prestigious Exchange Quay – newly-rebranded as ICE. The project, for clients Ekistics Property Advisors LLP and Hunter REIM, is comprised of a dedicated social, meeting and bar space, a hireable meeting room, a co-working zone and five upper storeys of lettable office space. The project forms part of 74’s ongoing involvement with the 435,000 sq ft Exchange Quay development, a collection of seven different buildings, all of which offer remodelled Grade A office space from a premium location on the edges of Salford Quays, Soapworks and the expanded Media City.
The scope of this project is to provide a new crossing for pedestrians, over the River Irwell from the A6, to The Meadow on the North of the river. It will help to unlock the vast development potential of a major corridor linking Salford and Manchester.
BDP’s Manchester studio partnered with the Manchester International Festival (MIF) to design Music Boxes – a musical playground designed for children aged 6 months to 7 years. BDP’s Manchester Chairman Gavin Elliott and Design Associate Jasper Sanders designed a mini city of shipping containers which were constructed at MediaCityUK in Salford Quays, the new home of Children’s BBC in the UK.
