Salzburg Central Station is one of two large-scale projects bringing the capital expenditure program of the ÖBB to completion. In the year 1999, the design of kadawittfeldarchitektur (Aachen/Graz) won a two-phase surveyed competition between 12 teams of architects. In order to integrate the station into the city, the task was not only to arrange the railway tracks anew. In particular, there was the task of integrating the historic train station from 1860 with its “authentic” appearance into a master plan that newly connects the boroughs on both sides of the tracks through several bridges and passageways.

BRIEF Car dealership with a garage and showroom | ADDED VALUE In order to arrange the spatial program on this limited lot, all the functions are piled on top of one another, linked by navigable ramps and united under one roof. The vertical reorganization of a car dealership typology provides many advantages over conventional horizontally-organized car dealerships: via the ramps, the client can drive directly to either the garage or the salesroom where the cars are presented to the outside without reflective glass.
The Clearing House is an institution of the SOS-Kinderdorf. Since 2001 this special place serves as accommodation, support and consultancy to minor refugees. The comprehensive restoration in 2012 with its construction and facade design reflects the idea of the SOS Kinderdörfer.
The surrounding
The HTBLuVA Salzburg is located in the district Itzling on the northern edge of town. The school building, built about 30 years ago, is by far the largest building in the area. The school is easily accessible by public transport. The train station is less than a 10 minute walk away, the local train is in the immediate vicinity and a large number of public busses drop of students directly in front of the main entrance. There are also about 180 parking spaces for teachers and students.
The conversion of the wellness area at ’ Hotel Felsenhof’ in Flachau (Salzburg, Austria) is part of a long term development concept which tranforms and adapts the existing structures of a locally grown familiy hotel into a contemporary hotel business through different modular phases. The main focus lies on a family friendly hotel which offers an easy, ecological and open minded atmosphere for young families spending their holidays in the alpine environment.

LETH & GORI’s project for an extension to Music Gymnasium Salzburg received a 3. Price in the open international competition.
The project creates a new extension to the school without stealing space or light from the existing densely built site. This is done by digging out the northern part of the site and inserting the extension as a onestorey building with courtyards and skylights. The roof of the building becomes a new playful urban landscape for the students.
Conversion and Extension of Sailer House, Salzburg
The owners of a Salzburg villa, wanted to add a weather-protected space that could be used all year round and would connect the house with the garden. Our main interest concerned the opening of the house to the south-sided garden. We created a large terrace reaching to the border of the property, on which we placed the garden room of glass and a pergola with tension ropes to provide shadow through plants or textiles. The arrangement of living room (music room), glass house, pergola, terrace, and a garden wall at the side-axis of the building create a chain of interwoven spaces, each closed and protected to a different degree.

The mobile art pavilion will be housed from March 2011 next to the Salzburg Biennale. It will give various cultural institutions a new presence in the city. During the next ten years it will be placed in different locations and used for cultural events. The aim of the design is to create a contemporary design through the innovative pavilion, which can be a self-conscious living showcase for contemporary art production in Salzburg.
