Morumbi Residence in São Paulo, Brazil by Monica Drucker

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2014

Article source: Monica Drucker

When she saw the 2,500 m² lot at the top of the Morumbi hills, in São Paulo, the architect Monica Drucker knew that she had found the ideal spot for her client’s residence. The area harmonized the view to the urban skyline with the tranquility of a tree-lined street, in addition to excellent privacy conditions assured by the 1.5 m unevenness relative to the street. In the project, it is possible to identify elements of the Paulista modernism repertoire, such as the horizontal windows, the overhangs, the rigid lines in angles and whiteness. The construction preserved the existing trees and bamboos defining the entrance, enhancing the volume, the 3.60 m overhangs and the transparent frames.

Cultura Bookstore in são paulo, brazil by studio mk27

Sunday, October 19th, 2014

Article source: studio mk27

A bookstore with a meeting place. This was the main premise of the architectural project of the bookstore Livraria Cultura at Iguatemi. More than just merely a place to shop, the store is inviting to stay and hang-out. Thus, we sought for visitors to not only find a book that they might be looking for, but rather that they remain there.

Castelo Branco Office Park in São Paulo, Brazil by Girimun Architects

Friday, October 10th, 2014

Article source: Girimun Architects

Taking the 2 existing buildings as a starting point, we have created a phased commercial development with additional 6 office and hotel towers in a total of 240,000 sqm stretching along 500m. The towers are laid out in a soft rotation angle from each other so to allow more space between them, guarantee open views, and create a dynamic outdoor inner space rich in landscape, water features, canopied walkways and supportive retail.  The later twin towers sit on a retail podium that gradually steps up amidst recreational open courtyards to overcome the existing 12m level gap on site.

Saturday, October 4th, 2014

Article source: WeNew Innovation

The Urban Spa was created exploring the thematic and symbols found on the streets. This is a business model for the young entrepreneur, between 25 to 40 years, which corresponds to 35% of the growth of companies in Brazil.
The idea is to have a space that provides a new look and contemporary tools of wellness & well being to help these new entrepreneurs to better cope with their stressful work demand. In this project, the Luxury found in most spas gives room to a more stripped and irreverent kind of spa.

SOROCABA HOUSE in Sao Paulo, Brazil by Estudio BRA Arquitetura

Friday, August 8th, 2014

Article source: Estudio BRA Arquitetura

Located in a residential neighborhood in Sorocaba City, 80km from Sao Paulo, Brazil, the horizon has been marked by the shape of this contemporary house.

Composed of two overlapping volumes, the house derives from the intention to release the largest possible area for living spaces and provide fluidity between the spaces. The upper volume was designed bigger than the lower one, because of that half of the house seems to float on the ground and provides shadow and a relaxing space on the yard.
