The new China Resources University in Xiao Jing Wan – a coastal urban development located to the east of Shenzhen – was opened by Dr. Fu Yuning, Chairman of the China Resources Group on Saturday, 29 October. The 55,000 square-metre university campus is part of a larger mixed use development designed by the practice, consisting of a hotel, clubhouse, retail and residential components.
The Museum of Contemporary Art & Planning Exhibition (MOCAPE) is part of the master plan for the Futian Cultural District, the new urban center of Shenzhen. The project combines two independent yet structurally unified institutions: The Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) and the Planning Exhibition (PE) as a cultural meeting point and a venue for architectural exhibitions. The lobby, multifunctional exhibition halls, auditorium, conference rooms and service areas will be used jointly.

Located in a residential area along the Dasha Green Corridor, which stretches from the Nanshan mountain park to the Yangtai mountain park, the soon-to-be realised Xili Sports and Cultural Centre, Shenzhen is an experience centre for sports, well-being, leisure and culture seeking to achieve profound connections between nature, sports and culture, thus serving wide-ranging age groups and interests.

Site and Program: A total surface area of 105,000 m2 consisting of a 20,000m2 theatre-amphitheatre, 15,000m2 Basketball-Badminton arena, 10,000m2 multifunctional arena and 6,000m2 swimming pool, presenting a dynamic public space with multiple layers.
Designed by Aedas, Shenzhen Luohu Friendship Trading Centre is a redevelopment of a current department store to be transfigured into a new skyscraper with a 7-storey retail podium at the heart of Luohu in Shenzhen, China. The design creates a vibrant and porous podium by staggering up various retail boxes in dynamic and organic forms in response to the bustling surroundings, delivering a new sustainable and iconic design for the city.
As the first new-oriental style boutique hotel in Shenzhen, Duoduo Group cooperates with YANG Hotel Design Group to build this HUI HOTEL. Hotel is located beside Shenzhen Central Park which has a one-thousand meters green belt, close to Huaqiang North, and is transformed from an old factory.

New headquarters for the 4,000 employees of CNPEC, the power corporation, are being built in Shenzhen to plans by gmp Architects – von Gerkan, Marg and Partners. For the new building in Longgang, in the east of the southern Chinese metropolis, the company had invited prominent architects such as OMA (Rotterdam), KPF (New York), Henn Architects (Munich) and other international practices to take part in a competition, in which gmp was selected as the winner.

Pei Cobb Freed & Partners has unveiled its design for an iconic tower to be erected on the gateway site of a planned business development in the Nanshan District of Shenzhen, China. The new building, which will be completed in 2017, will house the South China offices of China Minmetals Corporation, one of the world’s leading metal companies and the largest iron and steel trader in China.

SF Express Group Co., Ltd, one of China’s leading logistics companies with over 340,000 employees worldwide, is intending to construct a new company headquarter building in the flourishing Qianhai District in Shenzhen. The architects von Gerkan, Marg and Partners (gmp) were successful in winning first prize in the international competition for the new construction of the SF Express Headquarter Building, and the practice has been commissioned with the design of the high-rise office building with a gross floor area of 100,000 m².
The project, designed by architects John Portman & Associates, is composed of a 356-key hotel, a residential towerand support amenities on a 21,174-square-meter site in the Bao’an Central Area business district in the booming Qianhai development zone of Shenzhen, China.The hotel tower is 26 stories tall, yet, at 99-meters tall, rises higher than the 29-story residential tower. There is a total built area of 84,600 square meters above grade.
