Site and Streetscape – The building is located in the backstreet of the cheongdam intersection, where luxury brand shops, and opulent apartments and houses boast their unique form. It is surrounded by the Hyundai and Gusan Apartment complex and other commercial facilities that are more than ten stories high.
The neighborhood of Gyeonguiline book street nearby Hongdae, one of the hottest places in Seoul, is where memories of young cafe culture and Indie Culture exist. 1,047 of about 4,120 publishers in Mapo-gu are concentrated in Hongdae. Reflecting the local feature, the book street has been formed with an outdoor library, a bookstore, a book cafe, and etc. based on the book theme.
Texture of the Earth_ The plan began with concern about how to represent something of the texture of nature, which has a different character from the scale of the indoor stadium. We wanted the soft red-brown colour of the Youngsangang riverbank to continue throughout the mass.
Project BSTONY lies on Dolsan Island, an island off the coast of Yeosu, South Jeolla Province. The island’s coastal route passes through small villages housing the lives and livelihoods of island locals. A twenty-minute drive down this road leads to an unassuming structure.
At the first meeting, the client requested a café with a garden and minimal housing capacity for mangement. The site was located at the bottom of Cheonwang Mountain and retained the natural slope of the foothills.
The site is located in Tosan-ri, an area in Jeju Island with a beautiful, natural and relaxing view of the ocean and Mount Hallasan. Facing the sea, the Tosan-ri house is perched on a slight slope resulting in two uneven ground levels, surrounded by low stonewalls and trees.
MVRDV realised I LOVE STREET in collaboration with students of the Seosuk Elementary School as one of the third edition of the Gwangju Folly The 960m2 permanent intervention explores how architecture contributes to urban regeneration by playing both decorative and functional roles in public spaces. The project was conceived in a participatory process.

Ga-Pyeong region is located outskirts of Seoul. The site is famous for Arboretum, pine forest and mountains with rocks. The project embraces these characters of region. Likely, to other places, pine trees and large Rocks were easily found on the site. We pursue to express the atmosphere of the site character on our master plan. When people visit the site, they should experience the nature as itself and should not be disturbed by destructed nature. The site is located on the edge of pine forest, which has slope height difference of 25 meters from the south to north end. Area for glamping is on nature side. The buildings are positioned on the road side, as if they protect the camp site.
Atelier.Archi@Mosphere pursues a sensuously and physically perceptible space that doesn’t require any supplementary explanations, and that is, in other words, a site and context-specific space
In this project, they also tried to embrace local contexts and the spatial functions of opticians to introduce such a “site and context-specific space”.

“Writing is a medium of human communication that represents language and emotion with signs and symbols. In most languages, writing is a complement to speech or spoken language. Writing is not a language, but a tool developed by human society.” It is a great task to trace back cultural heritages through studying and developing forms and styles from various ethnic backgrounds of each different writings and writing systems. In this sense and immediate understanding on the matter, we are overwhelmed by the fact the expression on the museum of world writing can be too vast and tremendous. Hence, creating the architectural form for the Museum of World Writing will be very much rewarding historical event, if we, as architects, can express into a form of conglomeration that brings the sense and beauty of the world writings.
One Roof house (One Roof hereafter) is located in Pan-gy, a residential area in the suburb of Seoul. This building focuses on spatial arrangement and sectional plan rather than exteriors.
One Roof is divided into three different spaces, each having different characters in both horizontal and vertical layout.
