Peter Pichler Architecture designs landscape inspired villa on vineyard in North Italy.

The new villa is located in South Tyrol, North Italy in the wonderful Alpine landscape of Termeno, renowned for being the home of the Gewürztraminer wine.

In 2018 PPA won an invited competition to replace an old existing structure on top of the ‘Kastelaz’ vineyard with a new villa, owned by a well-known wine-producing family from the area. The site is nestled within mountain valleys, the vineyard, a forest, and close Caldaro Lake, providing a 360-degree landscape view.

Aeon Hotel in South Tyrol, Italy by noa* network of architecture

Monday, November 1st, 2021

Article source: noa* network of architecture

Boundaries between past and future, between dream and reality, between inside and outside: noa* makes the invisible lines visible, which become part of the full picture and, above all, instead of a separation, a connection between two worlds.

It is a privilege to have the space to realize one’s own vision, nestled between one’s own meadows and woods, with an expanse that affords views from the Sciliar to the Rittner Horn, all the way to the Merano Alps and the Dolomites. The historic Lobishof, a perfect ensemble of an old inn, residential house, and traditional barn, is now writing the next chapter of its history with the next generation – one in which noa* has created the new, architectural framework.

Its roots are underground, yet it boasts an amazing view: the hotel designed by noa* in Fiè allo Sciliar was extended by embedding it in the terrain, offering guests a spectacular view and the feeling of being emerged in nature.

Transform a traditional South Tyrolean restaurant into a larger hospitality space, without altering the charming, beautiful landscape with new levels. This was noa*’s goal with its project in Fiè, within the wonderful Dolomite scenery of the Sciliar and the Catinaccio.

Article source: noa* network of architecture

When architecture takes on the vibrancy and rich diversity of nature, it will never be perceived as alien. As part of a special hotel project, noa* has incorporated features that will evoke memories, dreams and perhaps a touch of adventure in every guest.

For many years the cosy guest rooms of Parc Hotel Florian, situated at the foothills of the village of Siusi allo Sciliar, has been providing the perfect year-round holiday experience. A unique feature of this property is the magnificent park, where you are encouraged to linger among ancient trees, an idyllic pond and an outdoor pool. The complex has recently been expanded with ten brand new suites in a stand-alone building, which connects to the existing structure, providing both a sense of continuity and a fresh perspective with a distinctive architectural language.

Südtirol Home in South Tyrol, Italy by NOA* – NETWORK OF ARCHITECTURE

Thursday, March 12th, 2020

Article source: NOA* – NETWORK OF ARCHITECTURE

Is it possible to taste, smell and feel a country? Yes, it is. With the finest nuances, noa* brings the Südtirol-Home’ guests in Antholz on an exciting olfactory and visual journey of discovery through South Tyrol.

South Tyrol – a term that describes over a thousand things, was recently translated into architectural form for the occasion of the 51st Biathlon World Cup in Antholz, where top athletes, celebrities, politicians, organizers and visitors gather. Surrounding a kind of “village square” are 10 buildings, the largest of which is the Südtirol-Home, which will be the home of guests, winners and journalists in this top-class sports event 2020, who, above all, are intended to be able to do one thing here: feel South Tyrol.

The attractive shell of Südtirol-Home, a modern interplay, where glass and wood create a game between the open and closed, was already under construction when IDM Südtirol, the innovation, development and marketing company commissioned noa* with the design of its interiors. A critical factor that had to be taken into account in the planning of the interior design, was that this temporary building should be easy to dismantle and assemble at other locations without major wear and tear. The main task for noa*, however, was to enable Südtirol-Home’ visitors to experience the location and the country in which the sporting event takes place in literally every sense.

In stone, fire department margreid in South Tyrol, Italy by bergmeisterwolf architekten

Thursday, June 1st, 2017

Article source: bergmeisterwolf architekten

A stone wall is the stage backdrop for the new fire department in margreid, along the wine road. three large caverns in a mountain, connected by a crossing tunnel, serve as the inner rooms of the station. two caverns are used for trucks and one for administrative work. a meter from the mountain, a concrete wall, kinked and dyed black, mirrors the angle of the mountain wall. the three caverns dock on to the steel concrete wall that functions both as fall protection and as an architectural element of the fire department. the material chosen was concrete: stable, strong, and mighty; the dark color was achieved by adding beech coal dust, making the concrete look like burnt wood.
