This new culinary space, designed by the Astet studio for the Dani García Group, treasures the essence of the primitive, of fire, of embers and of primary materials such as stone and wood, which are not only elements of the interior design project, but are also the basis for the preparation of the gastronomic proposal.

House of the Sun in Marbella, Spain by Fran Silvestre Arquitectos

Sunday, October 11th, 2020

Article source: Fran Silvestre Arquitectos

We have always been fascinated by the work of Andreu Alfaro “The door of the Universe” made in 1983. A circle rotated and suspended over a square. For some years it was located at the door of our studio, and it was surprising its ability to make us think, place ourselves at the base when the day ended and consider that we were indeed facing a threshold that opened the door to infinite space.

Home for Ana and Pau in Elda, Spain by Pablo Muñoz Payá Arquitectos

Saturday, October 3rd, 2020

Article source: Pablo Muñoz Payá Arquitectos

In the collective imagination, the worst thing about a mid terrace house, a place which by definition is deep with most of its sides being shared parameters, is darkness. It is true that in houses of this kind it is common to find oppressive spaces, the result of a complicated spatial management when an appropriate professional has not been consulted and when loving care is not given.

Looking at Pablo Muñoz Payá’s project “A home for Ana and Pau” we can see how the antithesis of this perception can be achieved, free from the connotations that such typologies may entail.

The reinstatement of the memory of the place, as well as the social and uniqueness of thesite, constitute the corner stone of this intervention. The promenade acts both as a catalyst for architecture and as a meeting and connections pace for a historically divided city. The place proposes the intervention, the routes formalize it and the solar orientation defines it.

Hotel H10 Casa del Mar in Santa Ponça, Spain by Studio Ferra

Friday, August 14th, 2020

Article source: Studio Ferra

This project incorporates the partial demolition and reconstruction of an existing hotel.

The project includes the addition of a new building structure and reconstruction of all rooms, suites, terraces, corridors, lobby, pool, and cafeteria.

A new volume on the front facade with direct sea views was created, extending from 12 into more than 30 rooms with seafront views. An existing structure on the ground floor, by the front entrance, has been substituted by a newly designed cafeteria and reception area where the views of the beach and the sea become part of the internal courtyard. The position of the cafeteria was chosen so the large pool and terraces are viewed and easily accessed.

An Attic for David in Barcelona, Spain by MH.AP Studio

Wednesday, July 29th, 2020

Article source: MH.AP Studio

David’s Attic in Barcelona features an abundance of built-in furniture and storage elements made from matte-finish MDF, and carefully-positioned mirrors to make the home appear more spacious.

As we entered to the original flat we felt disappointed with the 1970’s configuration of the 70-square-metre flat. “What a shame that the terrace is not connected to the living room!” We noted. The apartment had a long corridor and an adjoining row of small, dark rooms that weren’t taking advantage of sunlight from the outdoor terrace. Our main goal was to broaden the home without losing any rooms.
