Thinking Gallery Space in Taipei, Taiwan by Studio In2

Thursday, February 16th, 2017

Article source: Studio In2

The Thinking Gallery Space provides rental services for exhibitions, parties, and classes.

Design Concept:

Concretizing abstract thinking enables us to sketch outlines on paper. The orientations of thought are like angles and changes in light and shadow, and different people do not necessarily see details of pictures in the same way. Based on this, we derived a means by which to embody thought and created the Thinking Gallery Space, which allows us to enjoy the thinking process in a tranquil atmosphere.

Historical building contains many strong characteristic of space and living and it expresses the significance of the certain age. While facing the renovation of a historical building, our first intention is to “re-specify” the initial gestures of the space in order to remain the condition for the traces of time could be experienced. Therefore, carefully but distinctive inserting an element to shape new spaces become the key issue of this project.

LE PLAN LIBRE in Taipei, Taiwan by Waterfrom Design

Wednesday, November 30th, 2016

Article source: Waterfrom Design

As the architect Mies Van der Rohe proposes “Skin and bones architecture”, we try to keep all structure expose with two long horizontal sliding windows. Except for providing the house a spacious view and ample sunlight, the exposed frame and glass blur the line between indoor and outdoor.

The cube extend from the facade is an intermediary space between indoor and outdoor. The stainless steel reflects the blue sky and merges the architecture with nature. On the roof garden, we designed a sink in the shape of giant milk box, which is toppled and sprinkled a pool of grass.

Happier Café – Paper Space in Taipei, Taiwan by J.C Architecture

Wednesday, September 14th, 2016

Article source: J.C Architecture

A collaboration that started with a discussion of what makes one feel happy, whether tangible or a feeling, from small pleasures tolife conquests. Happier cafe is a place for change and evolution, where people feel comfortable but also are key attributes to the space. For that, we believe each person sharing the space should be able to change and contribute to its creation. We imagined it as an art installation, given the lease was granted for only six months, something perhaps temporary, nonetheless imaginative and playful. Using paper was an ideal scheme to allow people to express, build, and adjust the environment according to their mood. Paper became a simple tool that records the change of the space, and the idea that each one of us can seek and manipulate their own search for balance and transformation. Large paper rolls create a time machine installation, forming walkways, niches, and intimate spaces for coach sessions, gatherings and relaxation. The cafe bar is designed as an open counter where users hand pick their snacks and prepare their drinks, and are trusted to pay and collect their own change, enabling and sharing the responsibility and maintenance of the space to the community, an overall feeling that directly connects the people and space together.

cnYES Office in Taipei, Taiwan by Waterfrom Design

Friday, July 8th, 2016

Article source: Waterfrom Design

Integrating finance and mass communication to provide financial website services, cnYES is an internet media company characterized by stability images of financial business and innovation features of the media. To highlight the sense of speed as in Wall Street and Silicon Valley, Waterfrom Design selects the element of “time” as the theme complemented by the dual fast pace of swift financial, monetary and cash flow as well as online real time information. Time is to be deconstructed in the space while in unison the space is to be reinvented and interpreted with different time definition through rapidly floating and changing rhythm.
