The program : create a panoramique tower and a history museum in the city.
The instrumenTOWER is not a Tower, it’s a sum of metal, glossy, frosted column wich go straight to the sky. The instrumenTower is a visual & musical instrument into the city. Far away, the limit between the sky and the tower disappear.

The instrumenTower – Mobil Art, an observation balloon which discuss with the InstrumenTower
The instrumenTower – Night and Day, two vision of the Tower
….therefore the sandou 4th rd. and the lingnan rd. will be extended on the site. the road extensions will be connected by the new “seashore drive” which is parallel to the existing seashore rd. – but as close to the sea as possible (20m harbour facility zone).
At a slender site placed in the redeveloped area in Taipei, a new hub of Asian music center is projected. Distributing to each culture to the each of the functions, gathering each visitor into each of the cultures, it will be new place to communicate. When each tower is related and have sympathy each other, a basement of connected new musical cultures will be appeared. Mixing up the surroundings into the relationship, the basement will draw ARASHI in the culture of Taiwan music.
More open to a wider public, Contemporary Art Museums are becoming hybrids programs and transforming the way that people approach to art and becoming real places to be. The key issue for New Taipei City Museum of Art is how to gather people and art while integrating the landscape into the museum and the museum into the park? In the “Art as lifestyle strategy” the project attributes equal importance to people than to exhibit spaces and art collections. Seeking a new equilibrium in the museum’s spatial structure, the project considers the people circulation as a raw matter to define and construct the museum experience. The architecture proposes to live the museum as a dynamic experience where people shall have an important role in shaping the museum’s image.
Our proposal for the Taiwan Tower, and the model for the Green-Architecture of the new generation, is the 21st Century Oasis. This Tower proposes a new Typology of a Tower akin to transparent cloud, mist and alike, which is unlike any other Towers in the past. The 2 main source of Inspiration comes from Taiwan itself.

An ever-changing event space; a living, responsive environment with large-scale kinetic elements that rearrange and reconfigure to create a radical public spectacle within an urban setting. The design of the Museum is premised on its position as one of four landmark buildings built on a master plan of two crossing axes.
New tower museum uses Green Cell as a symbol for Yingge and New Taipei City. The cells consist of diverse materials, aggrupated in different functions, in order to adapt to different programmatic needs.A new technology based on a double skin is proposed for the museum. It serves as structure but also plays a key role in environmental sustainability. It provides a chance to regenerate and redefine the urban scape.

“Biennale compact“
The core idea of the project is to create a kind of „condensed-Biennale-concept“ consisting of diverse unique „pavilions“ which are melted together. Each pavilion differs in shape, size, transparency, etc. in order to create a necklace-like structure of various identities.
Thereby this whole structure will be lifted in order to enable the park to flow through the plot. Each unit could host one of the exhibition spaces (of the fine arts museum or the children’s museum), the diverse areas of the research centre and the lecture hall. The units are connectable in order to enable a maximum in flexibility.

This is a large multi-program museum to be built on the outskirts of New Taipei City, Taiwan.
We wanted to make a museum that was well connected to the site and had extremely good public spaces, both interior and exterior. Drawing on the historical convergence of influences from several different nations over the centuries, the convergence of the rivers bounding the site, and the multi-use program of the museum itself we chose to work with the idea of convergence for this project.
But by pulling the park up into the project and by bending the building down into the ground we were able to create something that is in between building and landscape. It is easy to enjoy this museum weather you enter it or just have a picnic, up high on the grass with friends, while enjoying the view.

ROEWUarchitecture have recently completed a vacation home for an extended family in eastern Taiwan. Located in a dense urban area and confined on two sides by blank party-walls the house must gain all its light and air from the street while maintaining privacy within. It was also essential to maintain security while windows are left open for natural ventilation. The narrow and elongated plot was addressed by placing a series of solid volumes along the length of the site, allowing void spaces in between to create continuity for light and air. A bamboo screen wraps around the house creating a buffer between the street and private life within.
