The story behind the design of MOVIELAND is a tribute to the older days of the cinema world. The complex includes 11 movie theaters, among them some rich VIP halls. We chose strong elements and humanity values for the design, and special nostalgic look, which usually aren’t found in large commercial movie theaters. The whole complex gives the feeling of Deja Vu to the dazzling world of 1920’s Hollywood, with the elegance and luxury of the magnificent theaters in Europe of the same period, the golden age of world cinema.

Located in the center of the Tel Aviv University campus, The Check Point Building by Kimmel Eshkolot just open to the public this month. As a seemingly floating volume in the campus, it contrasts the adjacent Mario Botta’s iconic Cymbalista Synagogue and the the 1960s Faculty of Exact Sciences.
The Check Point Building is a new type of technology integrated building with a unique envelope made of pixels of glass that were designed using parametric modeling. This shell was developed specifically for the project, and it is an innovative system matching the values that the building represents. Its positioning frames an area to the west of the building which supports its conversion from a parking lot to a central square in the campus.

Jaggendorf House, at 10 Yehuda HaLevy Street, was designed in 1925, by the architects Liberson and Feinstein, in the eclectic style. The building was declared conserved according to the conservation plan and located in the area declared a cultural world heritage site by UNESCO. The house represents a somewhat minimalist style from the 1920s, with the symmetry mainly expressed on the west side. The façade includes an arcer and a projecting balcony with a parapet, as well as an upper section that conceals the tiled roof. The façade is rich in rectangular reliefs, decorated cornices and moulding at the roof edges. At the rear of the house one can discern the sandstone restricting the railway line that was laid here in 1892.
