MA Lounge in Tepoztlán, Mexico by CADAVAL & SOLÀ-MORALES

Monday, February 18th, 2019

Article source: CADAVAL & SOLÀ-MORALES

The MA lounge is located on one side of the front garden of MA House. They share landscape, garden, and cross views. It has a very specific program, and of temporary use: it is the space of shade next to the swimming pool, the place for readings and games near the water, the space designed for the body and its cares.

The Lounge establishes a clear dialogue with the MA House. which it completes. However, despite working with the same language and materials, the project seeks to create a world of its own, centred on the coexistence of the exhibition of an open world, with vigorous vegetation and light in abundance and a large pool with variable section to allow various uses against a small intimate patio, of very controlled scale and uses where the body and scale of the user is the main actor; a space where the protagonist is the definition of a very forceful limit, with the stone and the vegetation that is conquering.

Casa Meztitla in Tepoztlán, México by EDAA

Sunday, March 20th, 2016

Article source: EDAA

“Casa Meztitla is an intervention of a natural scenario. It showcases the luxurious value of leisure, the tropical weather, the intense sunlight, the smells of nature, the over 500 year-old landscaped terraces and the ever-present rock mountain: El Tepozteco. It is context in itself. The house, built out of rough stone, crawls low under the trees, aligned with the vegetated-covered stone slopes. It is the creation of pure space within the natural space (Paz, O., 1987). It has an introverted living yet is continually open to its surroundings. Only two elements reveal its existence to the outside world: the colorful bougainvillea flowers showing randomly through the trees’ dense foliage, which mark the plot’s perimeter; and the massive and monolithic white box that emerges through the treetops.”

Tubo Hotel in Tepoztlan, Mexico by T3arc

Thursday, July 7th, 2011

Article source: T3arc

The idea came when we built Cafe Five where we saw the need to adapt an inexpensive room for users. In our search for solutions, find the work of the architect Andreas Strauss in 2006 recycled concrete pipes to bring in a hotel room. We managed to recycle the tube diameter by 2.44m long and 3.50m to make our bathroom our client decided to make a hotel with the same characteristics as Desparkhotel. On a ground that is located on the outskirts of Tepoztlan, with excellent panoramic views of the Sierra del Tepozteco and in a wooded setting of unusual features, has been generating a unique natural environment and for our purpose.
