After 10 years of leasing space in a suburban office building, the Livestrong Foundation found its permanent home in the 1950s-era Gulf Coast Paper Co. (GPC) warehouse in East Austin, an under-served community in the process of revitalization.The adaptive reuse of the GCP warehouse transformed the concrete tilt-wall building to provide office space, meeting rooms, multi-use facilities, an in-house gym, an open-air courtyard, and parking for the staff of 62. Ongoing plans call for adding a community-based cancer-support program to provide direct services, with an emphasis on uninsured and under insured East Austin residents.

The Phyllis J. Tilley Memorial Pedestrian Bridge crosses over the Trinity River connecting Trinity Park to a new trail that terminates in downtown Fort Worth. The bridge has a graceful profile that enhances the serene and beautiful landscape. A steel arch with a span of 163’ (49.5m) supports steel stress ribbon segments and precast concrete planks over the river complementing the adjacent historic Lancaster vehicular bridge.
In Dallas, Texas, the Department of Parks and Recreation is working to replace several decaying, minimal 1960s shelters in the surrounding metropolitan public parks. Sandwiched between a community soccer field and playground, this simple pavilion embraces a passive, natural cooling system that becomes one with the spatial design.
Built over the existing Woodall Rodgers Freeway, this 5.2-acre park serves as an important pedestrian connection between the Central Business District, Uptown and the burgeoning Arts District in downtown Dallas, Texas. Bisected by the existing Olive Street bridge, the park is organized by a sweeping pedestrian promenade that features a continuous canopy of specimen Pond Cypress.

Over a long weekend in Austin, Larah sketched and designed the concept for Spartan. For a long and narrow space, storage and display were the main requirements and guests needed to feel free to browse around and not feel confined within the space. Larah solved this by introducing a full length wall of tiered cantilevered shelves with an integrated lip to avoid items from falling and below, a suspended millwork piece for additional back up storage.
Designed by WHR Architects, University of Houston Stadium Parking Garage parking provides far more that parking. The 2,300 car facility contains a Barnes & Nobel Fan Shop, Cougar Express Mini Market, Taco Cabana restaurant, offices for UH Parking and Transportation and UH Parking Customer Services. With 85% of the university’s nearly 40,000 students commuting from around the sprawling City of Houston and its suburbs, reimagining the garage as an amenity project made sense for several reasons.

The goal of the Center is to provide leadership in developing an educated, prepared, adaptable and competitive workforce. Each program has unique, specialized requirements that integrate academics with career preparation. These programs compliment local business and industry, and the curriculum is aligned to industry-recognized certifications/licensures. Most students are ready for certification/licensure upon graduation.
1111 east 11th is a three story mixed use project in the revitalized 11th Street Corridor of Austin TX. The ground floor is divided between an art gallery and boutique retail outlet. The second floor is reserved for office tenants with residential spaces occupying the top floor.
