Atelier PRO architects designed the internal restructure and renovation for the Allard Pierson museum in Amsterdam. The museum is part of the knowledge and heritage institute of the University of Amsterdam. A transparent infill was realized within the existing building lines.
The Allard Pierson institute provides access to the public and the scientific community to the Amsterdam University collections. They cover internationally renowned collections in the fields of archaeology, cartography, book history, Jewish culture, church history, zoology, music and graphic design. It is also the place that offers space for exhibitions, studies, conferences, meetings, lectures, a museum café and a shop.
The iconic Maritime Center Rotterdam will be located in the middle of the water on the Rijnhaven. The organic building contrasts with the rational, industrial design of the port. It is elegant, versatile and invites you to discover. The triple helix of the international maritime world comes together in this center: the past, present and future. It will be a place for maritime entrepreneurs, science and culture. The center will be accessible to the public and will create a place to stay, on and in the water, with a view of the surrounding port.
Located on the green edge of Strijp-R in Eindhoven, Studioninedots designed family home Villa Fifty-Fifty as a pavilion where volumes alternate between open and closed, and where life happens just as much outdoors as indoors: a new typology for maximising visual and family interaction.
Fontys Hogeschool is investing heavily in a thorough overhaul of its campus in the heart of Eindhoven. In the coming years, the area will change from a fenced-off enclave with anonymous architecture into a knowledge landscape that is fully integrated into the city; an inviting and inspiring place where students, teachers and local companies work together on the sharing and development of knowledge. To boost this development with a powerful impulse right from the start, Ector Hoogstad Architecten designed the new R10 building as a forward-looking example of attractive and effective campus architecture. In other words: connective, flexible and extremely sustainable.
Duinhotel Breezand has recently opened in Vrouwenpolder, Zeeland. The hotel, which forms part of the Breezand holiday park, was designed by RoosRos. Project architect Henri Zwerus developed a strong design concept using the building’s rounded forms and natural character and materials to become an inextricable part of the dune area in which it is located.
This generous villa is made for a family of four, allowing for all rooms to be horizontally connected. A sustainable and spacious home that blurs the lines between interior and exterior space. In the center of the living area, a lush green patio is placed and floor to ceiling sliding doors give open views to the surrounding garden and swimming pool. Cabinets, kitchens and furniture are custom designed and made to measure following the architectural layout. All to bring the architecture and interior design into a seamless unity.
In the historic city centre of Schiedam, stats architecten has realized a distinctive villa. Dynamic, spacious, with lots of glass and a hint of maritime sensation was the wish. In an almost hidden location on the waterfront, the striking exterior houses an interior with a ‘widescreen’ experience.
The Lloydquarter has a rich maritime history, dating back to around 1900. The Lloyd Pier owes its name to the Rotterdamsche Lloyd shipping company, that built a terminal on the pier from which its passenger ships departed to the east of the world. The SAWA building owes its name to the trampled form with generous green terraces, as a reference to Eastern rice fields and the history of the place.

When designing our own workplace, we wanted it to reflect our way of working as a small design studio.
By mapping our main activities and dividing them throughout the space, we created a clear division between the area where “stuff gets done” and the area where the creative process takes place. We designed bespoke furniture items to help us to organise the daily balancing act between creating and organising, pushing boundaries and making things happen.
