Located in a newly formed industrial area within the municipality of Apeldoorn between the city center and the national highway, Kwakkel, which distributes building and sanitary ware, required new facilities for their diverse program; administration, showroom, storage, service area, as well as cafeteria and restaurant overlaying the customary showroom program with additional public use.
PANalytical is the market leader in analysis systems for x-ray fluorescence (XRF) and x-ray diffraction (XRD). To further enhance its leading position in x-ray systems and tubes, a new production facility for x-ray tubes has been designed in Eindhoven. The new building must not only be able to realize future growth, but must also further increase operational efficiency.
The design for the new theater in Lelystad is part of the Master plan for the city center of Lelystad, designed by West 8. The theater plays an important role during the day as well as during the night in this area of the city. The clustering of cultural and social activities in this new quarter will give Lelystad an outspoken cultural face.

On the Cornelis Schuijtstraat in Amsterdam a flagship store has been realized for the label Stills. The spatial interventions in the hull, which visually connects the floors, are not emphasized by smoothing them but has been kept visible to show additions and finishing layers over time. There is a base from which the original shop and its transformations over time remained visible. This pattern of textures in the existing building is complemented by an object. A spatial translation based on the values of the label.
The sculptural form of this extension is a nice contrast with the minimal expression of the 1950’s house. The shape of the extension and the position of it’s windows are carefully related to the interior functions. The skylight in the highest point provides extra daylight to flood the kitchen desk. The stretched window in the back facade provides a panoramic view into the garden.

With its low-slung, elongated outlines the private house forms a link between the different features of the surroundings; the spatial loop enables the house to take in the extreme aspects of the landscape. By being stretched to the maximum, rather than displaying a compact or tall shape, the house conveys from the interior the idea of a walk in the countryside.
The Möbius loop, the spatial quality of which means that it is present in both plan and section, translates into the interior into a 24-hour cycle of sleeping, working and living. As the loop turns inside out the materialization follows these change-overs; glazed details and concrete structural elements swap roles as glazed facades are put in front of the concrete construction, dividing walls are made of glass and furniture such as tables and stairs are made of concrete.
The project is a redevelopment of a villa located in a green neighborhood of Rotterdam.
The existing villa was composed of an eclectic set of buildings stuck together forming a strange architectural patchwork: An original building from the early 20th century, a first extension built in 1991 mirroring the house and a final touch in 2003 to add 3 rooms and several facilities just before the current owner moved in.

Software used: Different usual CAD software for architect but the most important one was used by the contractor and is called “xsteel”. It is a very powerful 3d software which enables you to produce all the production drawings in 3d. Very important for this type of project. The tolerance of construction was very low, 5mm.
MoederscheimMoonen Architects recently delivered a new sports hall in Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel, The Netherlands. The project is part of the development of a bigger sports area in the city where multiple sport clubs will move to in the near future.
A corner house on one of the prettiest locations along the canal is provided with a new living layer in a metal rooftop extension. A glass wall is wrapped with a light, perforated aluminum skin. Windows occasionally pinch through this layer or are covered by it, providing various degrees of openness and closeness.

In the Netherlands there are hundreds of empty churches. Since 1970 more than 1000 churches are closed by church communities. More than 1/3 was demolished and half of the Catholic churches were thrown down. The coming years another 1000 churches will lose their original function. Fewer people go to church and the costs for conservation are no longer affordable. Fortunately, demolition is less common nowadays, partly because churches are often on the monuments list. Re-use is the only way to prevent long-lasting vacancy or demolition. The purpose of the Re-use of the St-Jakobuskerk was to revalue the dignified monument with little interventions as possible.
