Beatrix College Tilburg in Netherlands by architecten|en|en

Sunday, March 8th, 2015

Article source: architecten|en|en

Ambition
The assignment was the realization of a new building for the VMBO- school as part of the existing Beatrix College in Tilburg. With the population prognosis of the municipality in mind, the new building possibly had to be removed after 15 years, but the life span had to be as large as 40 years. Therefore the budget was based on temporary housing. The combined design- and building time was limited to one year and the existing buildings had to be able to function during construction. Key elements of the Beatrix College for this construction were: exploitation and maintenance with a sustainable and above all healthy school.

Bedaux-Nagengast Residence in Tilburg, Netherlands by Bedaux de Brouwer Architects

Monday, September 8th, 2014

Article source: Bedaux de Brouwer Architects

Thomas Bedaux of Bedaux de Brouwer Architecten designed this single family residence for his family on the edge of a residential area in Tilburg, the Netherlands. Recent changes in the zoning plan yielded a previously non existing lot that is situated at the intersection of three distinctly different worlds. These worlds, an existing block of row houses from the 1950’s, farm land with roaming sheep and an active cemetery, provided unique opportunities that informed the design.

Quirijn Park in Tilburg, The Netherlands by Karres en Brands

Wednesday, March 12th, 2014

Article source: Karres en Brands

The Quirijn Park is situated on a narrow strip of land that was once intended for the main traffic access to North Tilburg. The new urban development plan transforms this open area into a living link between the formerly separated neighbourhoods of Quirijnskto and Heikant, and brings about increased housing differentiation within North Tilburg. The emphasis therefore also lies on thee nw connections between the bordering neighbourhoods. The park works like a ‘zip fastene rb’etween both districts.
