“Turkey's one of the biggest startup” GETIR with 1,200 employees has an office area of 1,600 square meters on two floors in Etiler Doğuş Center.

In order to provide more innovative and flexible office space for the employees of GETIR HQ, employers held a competition with the specific brief and timing.

In this brief, approximately 350 square meters of the 1,600 square meters was allocated as “The Village Square”. This area was explained as the founders and employees are in the same place without any hierarchy in the startup spirit. The competition process ran for 1 month, videos and visualizations were also presented. Especially the progressive ideas behind “The Village Square” was set forth by URBANJOBS. After winning the competition, the design process was launched.

“The Village Square” was demanded as a multi- functional area to be used for meetings doing pilates, holding concerts where employees can easily chill and socialize.

Batard Bomonti in Turkey by URBANJOBS

Wednesday, June 26th, 2019

Article source: URBANJOBS

The place where Batard Bomonti is located was a space previously designed by URBANJOBS; while re-designing the same place, the new employer requested an old-looking concept, which does not feel like a newly-built atmosphere and indeed looks like as if it has been there for long years. The design process has been launched considering the necessity of building an up-to-date atmosphere also bearing the French influences.

Individuals residing in that district were selected as a customer profile; the place was aimed to serve as a local pub where people can easily come, have fun and spend quality time.

Attic Loft in Istanbul, Turkey by Elips Design Architecture

Friday, June 21st, 2019

Article source: Elips Design Architecture

Attic Loft Project is in Almondhill Residence, located in Asian part of Istanbul. The roof floor (7th floor) at Almondhill Residence was 85 sqm. Totally dark, no light and no fresh air from outside, it was almost an area in the warehouse view.

Designing for a young person who is undergoing university education, made Elips Design to feel quite free and at the same time they had to create more functional areas. The architects tried to create a loft space as much as possible, as the life of recreation, work, sport, food and entertainment vary. In fact, the bathroom was placed in the living room with the sound system that was ve separated from the blinds, so that TV in the living space can be watched from the bathroom.

The Populist Bebek in Turkey by lagranja design

Article source: lagranja design

Lagranja Design and its second ¨The Populist¨ in Istanbul

Lagranja Design was commissioned to design the second ¨The Populist¨ restaurant, located in Bebek, a sophisticated neighborhood of Istanbul. In the meantime, the first ¨The Populist¨ became one of the most frequented leisure facilities of the Turkish Capital.

Two years ago, Lagranja design studio in Barcelona undertook an ambitious project in Istanbul. The challenge consisted in the conversion of Turkey’s first beer company into a modern brewery with an industrial overall look, inspired by the graphic language of the Prohibition period. The result was ¨The Populist¨, located in the Bomonti area, restaurant acclaimed by ¨Time Out¨ as the best place to be in Istanbul.

Lagranja Design now completed the second restaurant for the same brand. This time, the project of the second ¨The Populist¨ had some distinct spatial characteristics that demanded new ideas and solutions, therefore it could not just adapt to the design. The new ¨The Populist¨ is located in the former space of a garden villa, in Bebek, a wealthy neighborhood on the Bosphorus strait.

Citlik House in Mugla, Turkey by PROJECT INTERNATIONAL ARCHITECTURE

Sunday, June 2nd, 2019

Article source: PROJECT INTERNATIONAL ARCHITECTURE

The Citlik tree that inhabits the site and also gives its name to the town is a symbolic tree in this region. According to the mythology, whoever eats the fruit of the tree will be unable to leave the area. The owners could feel the history lure them to this spot, and unable to venture away, decided to build their home.

Client desired the juxtaposition between simple and timeless, transparent and private all at an affordable rate.  They wanted to build a life that was not restrained inside the home. As a botanist, the owner desired a home where her design concept extended out beyond the home and into the natural landscape. Her partner is an off-road motorbike rider and founder of a channel for enduro. They both wanted their home to reflect both their emotional and professional connection to the environment. These philosophical parameters inspired the design process.
