Residential building in Staines, UK by Architects of Invention

The building is seven stories high with descending terraces at the front, which offer views towards the river from the internally situated apartments. While the building is foremost designated as residential, part of the ground floor is occupied with space for retail. The building’s round shape creates public spaces on the ground floor – opening to the north–east between the Strata House and the new development and also from the south-east corner on the embankment by the bridge.

V and A Gallery 40 in South Kensington London, UK by 6a architects

Situated in the south-western corner of the V&A South Kensington site, Gallery 40 is one of the museum’s largest and most architecturally distinctive interior spaces. The simplified neo-classical gallery, 1600 sqm in area, is based on an octagonal plan with four deep circular alcoves below a flattened domed glass roof.

The proposal creates a holistic vision for the heart of the ambitious Great Fen masterplan.  The visitor experience is conceived to be delightful, interactive and informative with the Visitor Centre interwoven within a large mosaic of differing fen landscapes and habitats. Paths and canals radiate from the Visitor Centre to link with the rich wetland landscape.
