Concrete66 in Kyiv, Ukraine by Pinchuk Virovtseva Architects

Tuesday, January 14th, 2020

Article source: Pinchuk Virovtseva Architects

Our project located in Kyiv, Ukraine. One of the main characteristics of the architectural solution of the building named SkyLine in which the apartment is located – Rounded floor plan and exterior walls. It was a test for our team to create no ordinary space in such an unusual floor plan. This apartment designed for the businesswoman who exactly knows what she wants from her own home – functionality and little cute things. Our team has given special attention to color combinations, we decide to add soft green and pink colours to sofa and bar chairs to show that even in this concrete walls warmth and tenderness have a place to be. Inspired by the texture of the native concrete column in the center of the apartment, we decided to keep it like it was and add a decorative material that imitates concrete to the ceiling to support it. “Сoncrete” ceiling hiding all public service connections and electric. We try to use only natural materials like a wood parquet floor, the metallic finish of the kitchen zone, concrete washbasin, Indian marble on the kitchen island top. The global illumination has been resolved by making multiple glass walls which allows the daylight to get in all around the apartment.

TAKAVA 2.0 in Kyiv, Ukraine by YUDIN Design studio

Wednesday, December 18th, 2019

Article source: YUDIN Design studio

This is the moment when history becomes a legend … TAKAVA Bar 2.0 is the development of the concept of the already famous TAKAVA Coffee-Buffet, located in the center of Kyiv. The surprising new institution has a larger area and even a more central location (Basarabsky market).
TAKAVA 2.0 is a cafe-bar and a trendy metro lounge – two in one!

The history of the TAKAVA brand began with the owners’ desire to create a café where residents and tourists could try different coffee drinks as in the Crimean Tatarian tradition, but at the same time, they wanted the place to be modern and bright. At this point they asked help from the famous Ukrainian designers, the Brothers Yudin. The garments of the YUDIN Design studio quickly found a name – TAKAVA 2.0. From here, they developed different types of logos in which the letter A is reproduced as a traditional pot for preparing coffee. The cezve, the traditional Turkish coffee maker, also formed the basis of other designers’ decisions regarding the interiors: rough and “toasted” textures, caramel nuances and notes of bitter but velvety coffee. A designer lamp in copper and glass is a direct reference to the shape of the cezve.
