As one of the densest neighborhoods in the country, Los Angeles’ Koreatown is at the forefront of changing modes of contemporary urban living. LOHA’s design for Mariposa1038 plays with this burgeoning area’s density with a pure cube extruded to fit tight on its lot, and then formed to gesture back to the public street and surrounding context.
To blur the distinction between the public and private sphere, LOHA pushed the cube inward on each of its sides, creating curves that grant relief from the sidewalk and return portions of the ground plane to the public realm. Balconies and window frames project outward to recapture the space between the new geometry and the property edge. Due to the building's curves, LOHA offers each balcony a unique depth and view.
Designed by BIG-Bjarke Ingels Group and Architect of Record Goody Clancy, the copper clad Business Innovation Hub at the heart of the University of Massachusetts Amherst adds 70,000SF of hyper-collaborative study and social space to one of the top-30 public business schools in the United States. The new expansion and partial renovation of the Isenberg School of Management nearly doubles the school’s current space to accommodate Isenberg’s growth in the last decade, while introducing new facilities for more than 150 staff and 5,000 students in undergraduate, master’s and PhD programs. BIG and Goody Clancy were commissioned in 2015 to design a flexible space that inspires and facilitates collaboration for every Isenberg student.

Atlantic Plumbing is the first building completed in a three-phase development project. The 310-unit rental building features a cantilevered glass and aluminum box framed in a Corten steel truss. Resident amenities include a fitness center, club rooms, rooftop pool, and landscaped terraces. Salvaged signage, bricks, and steel from the derelict building that once occupied the site have been incorporated into the lobby, reflecting the history of the V Street NW corridor. Atlantic Plumbing was influenced by the photography of Bernd and Hilla Becher.
Overlooking the natural elegance of the Mount Sutro Open Reserve, the Twin Peaks Residence is a direct reflection of the occupants who live there, two highly active 30-somethings with a passion for yoga and a thirst for travel. Inspired by the sloping hill and bountiful garden, both client and architect worked in tandem to elevate the property into a modern transformation by opening up the original compartmentalized main floor, with the goal of visually and physically connecting it to the spacious rear yard.
La Clara, a 25-storey residential tower overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean, will stand as a secluded and refined oasis in one of South Florida’s most prestigious communities. With spaces created for peaceful living and perfect luxury, La Clara will feature one to three-bedroom residences that range from 1,500 to over 3,000 square feet and with three luxurious penthouse floors at the top. Most residences will have a south-east facing private terrace with panoramic ocean views that allows for plenty of natural light but still offers an ideal privacy. The masterfully imagined design for La Clara offers residents the sense of comfort that comes with a warm and welcoming home while evoking feelings of luxury and indulgent extravagance. The solid elements of the tower will be clad in white stucco while the podium levels feature Roman travertine, coral stone, and granite with bronze accents. Amenities will include a spa, an outdoor swimming pool, fitness room, club room, indoor/outdoor private dining, a bar and lounge, as well as a private tasting room.
Secluded on the exclusive Fisher Island, where you can only get by the water, this apartment, overlooking Biscayne Bay and Downtown Skyline, is pure minimal chic relaxation and reminiscent of Brazilian art, a passion of the owner.

Beyond the clean façade of maple, walnut and concrete lies 3,000 sq ft of boundary dissolving living space that can only be described as transcendental. Utilizing the cutting-edge fabrication methods of the mnmMod panels, this home might well be dubbed an homage to the minimalist aesthetic and Southern California vibe of the Light and Space movement of the 1960s.
The design team for The Meadow Home was inspired by prominent views and beautiful slopes to build a structure on to the landscape to minimize its massing on the originally undeveloped site. The home’s L-shaped layout lies low on the brow of a grassy knoll, placed gently into the ground, matching the contours of the hill. The home’s main wing boasts a spacious joint kitchen, dining room, and living area whose floor-to-ceiling glass doors and windows open to reveal an expansive patio. The home is at once opened to the surrounding landscape and views of the encompassing prairie, seamlessly merging interior and exterior spaces. Splayed concrete walls, diminishing in height as they approach the house, direct the gaze to Windy Hill sitting on the western horizon.
A bold yet minimal residence in Troon North contrasts against the organic softness of the desert floor and rising Pinnacle Peak Heights to the east. The geometric layout of the planters and sharp edges of block walls, accented with dark metal slots and apertures, stand against the backdrop of the mountain and desert brush. Entering the tall volume of the foyer not only connects one to the picturesque desert through a soaring two-story window, but also calls attention to bands of light intermittently cast through the walnut stair treads.
Three prominent Memphis orthopedic practices joined forces to offer a more comprehensive and integrated experience for patients. Tabor Orthopedics, Memphis Orthopedic Group, and MSK Group had a vision for a new Bartlett, TN office that would be convenient to their collective patients, with the ability to offer clinic, x-ray, physical therapy, and MRI services all under one roof.
