House Bg Varese in Italy by Studio EcoArch

Friday, October 4th, 2019

Article source: Studio EcoArch

The prefabricated wooden house is built according to the concept of bio architecture in a residential area from where you can enjoy a wonderful view over lake Varese, the Sacro Monte sanctuary and Monte Rosa. Unfortunately enough, this marvelous view (is opposite to south orientation). Bio-climatic solutions helped the architects to reconcile the considerable solar gain (south) with the panorama views (west and north).

For the above reasons, all service spaces (entrance, bathroom, kitchen, and bioclimatic greenhouse), and two staircases (the first leading to the basement, the second from the loggia-terrace to the roof) are located on the south side of the house. The living spaces (living room, studio, and bedroom) are thus located north to enjoy the precious view; however, the large sliding glass doors in the kitchen and the bioclimatic greenhouse mitigate the absence of a direct solar gain. Finally, in the basement are located storage spaces and garage. On the roof are located solar panels, roof garden with wood deck.

The House Of The Archeologist in Varese, Italy by LCA architetti

Monday, July 8th, 2019

Article source: LCA architetti

The building is a single-family residence designed specifically for an archaeologist.

The volume is a simple parallelepiped with a rectangular base in which other blocks of cubic form, completely covered with stone, have been inserted and fixed.

From a material point of view, the building is reminiscent of the brick textures from old walls and the large cut stones that often interrupted the frame as lintels or cornerstones.

In this house, we replaced the bricks with reused fluted concrete block and the stone with marble slabs and travertine blocks.

The Ceresio Valley is, from the environmental point of view, beautiful and rich in vegetation. The house is situated on a slope with the best exposure and opens up the sun and the landscape, making it enter through large windows.

House NM rises on the sunny side of Ceresio Valley, opening itself to the landscape and letting natural light come in through large windows.

La casa di Chiara e Stefano in Varese, Italy by duearchitetti

Thursday, June 21st, 2018

Article source: duearchitetti

The house is located in a scenically privileged position, high on a hillside in a residential settlement in which a small church also is a part.

The dominant view and an excellent south-west exposure are a tangible presence in every space of the house.

We have been working on a project maintaining the originally thought out architectural concept including two levels in order to adapt the design to the steep slope of the ground. The lower level presents a longitudinal and hypogean development integrated in the hillside as a natural stone terrace. Here you will find bedrooms, studio and fitness zone.

Simona and Carlo’s Apartment in Varese, Italy by Duearchitetti

Article source: Duearchitetti

They have asked us to rethink the entrance to the house. The direct access to the dining area was preventing the sensation of surprise that every home should have.

A big sliding panel put in front of you, after having passed the entrance staircase, serves a dual purpose: to arouse your curiosity and to oblige your choice of itinerary, that is, walking up the stairs to the bedrooms or entering the living area. A compact space has been created in order to reveal in advance the expanded and bright living area of the house.

A quick and synthetic sketch of the entrance portico was instinctively drawn after our first visit to the house. Almost as a necessity.

We wanted to catch the spirit of the house. We wanted immediately to find the germ of our project.

Wood and iron apartment in Varese, Italy by LCArchitetti

Friday, January 29th, 2016

Article source: LCArchitetti

The project is a renovation work which has completely changed the distribution and the interior space of a 120 sm apartment built in the 60’s in Varese. The old partition walls and the long corridor have been demolished to give place to three big boxes inside the apartment; the new volumes, which contain the two bathrooms, the kitchen and the walk-in-closet, enlarge the space and define the rooms, leaving freedom of movement across the space and new perspectives.
