It was recently Inaugurated in Verona the showroom of the well-known sportswear brand, designed by the architectural firm Alberto Apostoli for 3A Sport, official importer of Converse for the Italian market.
Last June the works of the new Converse showroom in the province of Verona were completed.
Owned by 3A Sport, the importing company for Italy of some important sports brands, including Nike, and owner of the Just Play brand, this exhibition space bears the signature of Alberto Apostoli, an internationally renowned Italian designer.
The NOBIS CAFE ‘project, born in the historic center of the city of Verona, is housed inside a historic building, where the same masonry of the 1500s is brought to the sight to create a contrast to the rest of the room.
We wanted to create a contrast between the historicity of the building and the search for materials with a strong personality.
The DUCHI CAFE Project, born at a suggestive point in the city of Verona, exactly where there was the cloister of the Church of San Fermo (1200 – 1500 DC).
The masonry, the wooden ceilings are original in the period and even the frescoes date back to 1200 and 1500 DC.

The architects von Gerkan, Marg and Partners (gmp) and the engineers schlaich bergermann partner (sbp) have won the international ideas competition for a roof over Verona’s historic arena. The jointly developed design was the winning entry of over 80 competing submissions, and continues the many years of cooperation between the two practices. Following the Borgo Trento hospital and the new trade exhibition halls, this could become the architects’ third project in Verona.

The story of a building, very often, that of the family that has lived. The new owners wanted to mold the existing building to have a living space conform to their way of life.
