The architects’ office heri&salli from Vienna created in a residential building of a private building owner in Austria a so-called pleated dress”, a façade design that is positioned in front of the building including a grid system lying behind. The bent perforated plates can be shifted individually on a perimeter frame as required.
The architects‘s office heri&salli from Vienna created in a residential building of a private building owner in Austria a so-called Netlight”. A steel construction combined with a Plexiglas shell that dissolves into fragmentary lines was placed in an airspace surrounded by a gallery.
A hotel is a hotel is a hotel just for tourists. Wrong! The new 25hours Hotel, located near Vienna’s MuseumsQuartier, is by no means just a pretentious structure offering accommodation for a well-heeled foreign clientele. Since opening its doors in early 2013, this centrally located hotel has become a popular spot for all – especially for the locals, who appreciate the pizzeria, the Viennese “Schanigarten” with a special burger grill, and a cool rooftop café with a terrace.
Here are the first photographs of Zaha Hadid’s Library and Learning Centre at the Vienna University of Economics and Business, which opened last week in the city’s second district.
The library and learning centre is one of seven buildings that make up the new campus at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien), designed to accommodate 24,000 students and 1800 staff. The most distinctive feature of Zaha Hadid’s 28,000-square-metre building is a large black volume that is perched over the roof and cantilevers out across a public square at the main entrance.
A two-stage competition for the Med Campus in Graz was held in 2009/2010. The task was to concentrate the hitherto widespread facilities of the Medical University near the Provincial Hospital. The project provided for lecture halls, seminar rooms, laboratories, research facilities and administrative offices. It comprised a gross floor area of about 100,000 square meters structured in a volume of approximately 300,000 cubic meters.

The Aspern Urban Lakeside is one of Europe’s largest current urban development projects. Over the next 15 years, a new center for living and working which combines nature and urbanity will be built in Vienna’s east. The new buildings will be situated in an extensive park centered round a 50,000 sq. m. artificial lake.
Together with Delta ZT, AllesWirdGut won a developers competition for a residential and shopping complex of 23,000 m² gross floor space in the Aspern Urban Lakeside.
The Rescue Center is set on Kaiser-Eberdorferstraße and responsible for the whole 11th district in Vienna. It officially opened in May 2013.
The complex combines two different functional areas – the garage and the staff rooms. Even though they are different spheres, they are connected by the roof which embraces the whole building.
When planning this building the instructors made a great effort to include all different requirements in the project without, however, neglecting the idea of a unified architectural line. So when the general refurbishment on Bauernfeldplatz in 1090 Vienna started it was important to connect the different levels and to open up the restaurant towards the road space in the foreground.A special element of the building is the 1913 built and still existing sun garden. Rather than putting it down because of his ongoing decrepitude we decided to keep and rehabilitate it. By opening the portals to ceiling-high windows, the sun garden now connects not only inner- and outer-space but also the different levels of the building.
The architect’s office heri&salli from Vienna/Austria designed in an apartment of a private building owner a bathroom where mutually alternating fragmentary mirror surfaces and lighting fixtures form a conglomerate like a jigsaw puzzle of an image and a reflection. Sections of the room are more indicated momentarily than carried through. Man nowadays renews almost at will the outer appearance of his body or in other words of the parts of his body. From a superficial point of view it’s possible to say that a human being consists more of fragments than a grown entity.
