The construction is rebuilt base on an old house with 70m2 using floor. Before reforming, the house includes a living room, a bedroom, kitchen, restroom and terrace up stair. There is a small void in the ending of house which just enough to get sunlight for kitchen while the bed room is dark and stuffy. The front of house is covered by a kiosk with ceramic floor and sheet metal roof.
The owner demand for more space with more function, make the house brighter and greener as well as bring the new form of house which is modern and simple.

In a collaboration with Cát Tiên National Park, Free the Bears and Building Trust international, COLE have completed the design of a series of buildings serving to house bears rescued from the illegal wildlife trade and bear bile industry. Building for bears in the jungle
COLE have delivered a number of innovative and diverse projects for Wildlife organisations worldwide. Therefore are no strangers to delivering work in complex and hard to access areas. The Vietnam Bear Sanctuary project however presented two major challenges. Firstly, the site was on the other side of the Đong Nai river which meant supplies had to be ferried across. A further challenge was the site being on the side of a heavily forested jungle hill, sitting in one of Vietnam’s largest national parks.
U House is located in the new development area in the suburb of Binh Duong, a growing industrial city in the South of Vietnam. The owner is particularly interested in the garden house in rural Central Vietnam and wanted to recreate the lifestyle that is in harmony with nature, often seen in this traditional residential typology. The challenge for us is to adapt the traditional design to this new setting.
Inspired by Villa Savoye and the openness of vernacular architecture, the house is a steel box sitting resting above columns, freeing up the ground floor space. The design is an answer to the minimal contemporary lifestyle of the young professional, who possesses an extensive collection of cars in the tropical climate of Ho Chi Minh City.
The basement has the capacity for seven cars, with a central courtyard for natural light and ventilation. The main entrance begins here, following a ramp through this open space filled with greenery, leading up to the upper level with the open living, kitchen and dining space.
This is a new construction combined renovation building so connection between new and old is segregated by us according to business function space, the old residential block in front is used for making nail, the new residential block behind is arranged for the living room combined with the cashier, and at the end of the building is space where use for toilet and spa!.
The old residential block is built for a long time and in poor quality, combining with the harsh climate of the Central make the building leaked in the rainy season and hot in the summer! This made us decide to create an outer shell to overcome above two problems!
The house locates in Nha Trang City–southern part of Central Vietnam. “ Natural breeze & lighting symphony “ is a Individual House project with site area is 104sqm, wide facade is only 6m.
The front of this house is in the west, so it is necessary to limit the hot sun into the house, create wind to cool the house. Create a cover to help the house obstructs the heat of the sun but still ensures ventilation and light for the house. Arrangement of many small glassed windows with many different sizes for this cover,60% of these windows can be opened, closed actively to get wind and lighting.

Lan’ house is located at Road 5, Phuoc Tinh Ward, Long Dien Town, Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province, Viet Nam. When discussing with owner, H2 ourself caught two main problems which be called body and soul of the house.
First about body of Lan’ house that our architects solved the needs of using which divided two parts of space clearly: first floor for rice business and second floor for living most comfortably.
All space of first floor is in front of Road 5 so it’s suitable for developing Vietnamese traditional business best which along the large street or we call façade house.
Growing mysteriously from the ground, concrete columns move rhythmically, branching and wrapping four levels of the courtyard building. Concrete Lace is illuminated by the soft golden light of the setting sun, becoming a part of the skyline. Evening light shines through, interweaving between the concrete skeleton and the skyline.
Maison A’s main occupant is an aging mother who has lived in the coastal village of Nam Dinh her whole life.
Her son who grew up and settled in the city wanted to build this house for his mother after after his father had died. It is like a place to return to childhood life with traditional family lifestyle but in the modern look.
When the architect talking to the client, he remembers fondly the banana trees that used to grow at the site. This childhood memory inspires the architect to create a place which has a mental connection from old familiar images.
