A House In Dong Tao, Vietnam by I.HOUSE

Tuesday, January 29th, 2019

Article source: I.HOUSE

This house is located on the outskirts of Hung Yen province. Facing an artery connecting provinces and bordering a local road, the residence stretches on an ideal land area with 8.6m in width and 26,8m in length. Bringing several advantages, this geographical feature, at the same time, presents the architects with certain challenges such as fume, dust and noise from the roads when designing the house. Taking these environmental drawbacks into consideration, we decided to leave the first 11 meters in front of the house for a playground and a parking space, offsetting the adverse impacts created by the above factors on the house. The green of plants and flowers is optimized to put the house back into nature, balancing with the rough look of bricks and concretes and also to immerse the residents in green spaces.

S Space in Vietnam by H&P Architects

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2019

Article source: H&P Architects

Not quite far from a large polluted industrial park, the project is located in a new emerging urban area with a high construction density in Dong Van town, Ha Nam province.  This is an open space for the community with its focus on cultural and artistic aspects on a periodical basis, among which coffee space is a daily activity.

The design inspiration comes from the beauty of the national landscape of Kem Trong situated between the two provinces of Ha Nam and Ninh Binh where illegal rock mining is gradually turning this famous place into ruins. From this perspective, the design concept is to make use of waste (reusing scaffolding steel pipes, collecting rock debris from Kem Trong, discarded rocks from trade villages and construction sites) to express the treasure, nostalgia / regret of local people at the bygones of the lanscape.

Article source: HGAA

Ninh Binh is a quiet city 100km south of Hanoi. The buildings here are famous for their luxury, costly in appearance, but do not pay attention to the quality of living space, lack of natural elements, light and trees.

Ninh Binh House is a simple house, with reinforced concrete structure which is very popular in Vietnam, but designed to create a living space different from the surrounding building, and closer to nature.

Publik Office in Saigon, Vietnam by Sanuki Daisuke

Sunday, January 20th, 2019

Article source: Sanuki Daisuke

The site is located in the district 3 of Ho Chi Minh and is a co-working space project to be built in the center of Ho Chi Minh. It is assumed that young creators living in Ho Chi Minh City, venture companies and local corporate starters of overseas companies are used, and each floor of 5 stories has different space. This is a renovation project, and the original building was an old building built in the 1990s, and it was repeatedly increased and remodeled so as not to keep the original shape. Furthermore, since the site does not face the main street and the visibility is bad, how to design the facade was a big point of.

TDN Residence in Hanoi, Vietnam by i.House Architecture and Construction

Monday, January 7th, 2019

Article source: i.House Architecture and Construction

Situated on Tran Dai Nghia Street, Hanoi, the house lies in a lovely and tranquil alley. 5.4 meters in width and 20.3 meters in length, the house, with two open views at the front and back, overlooks a tree-filled university campus. Such an area, in the urban district, is ideal for creating a living space for a whole family.

With large panels of glass and rough, hollow brick, the panorama in front of the house with perennial trees of nearly 20m is optimized to achieve a great harmony of colors from leaves (green) and concrete (grey). In addition, a contrast can be clearly seen as the brick wall is vertically built to balance with the horizontally recessed loggia and the courtyard. Interlaced among the vertical and horizontal lines is a big tub of plant at the corner of the loggia on the second floor, which brings balance and sets the facade of the house apart. Therefore, the appeal of the house comes from a perfect blend of inner-outer spaces and the solidity and void in its architecture.

The Umbrella in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam by AD+studio

Monday, November 12th, 2018

Article source: AD+studio

The house is situated in a corner hidden from the small alley in Sai Gon where people usually pass by in their first visit. This position leaves us with a feeling of silence of the site inside as well as an astonishment at its wide yard when we go through the gate.

The current condition is a small old house with some familiar architectural characteristics (the patio, screen block walls…); they are spontaneous details of a building that is built in a region with little temperature amplitude, hot climate and much rain; such details are considered to use in the new design. In front of the house is there a wide yard; from the height of the roof we can utilize the view – an airy and private area that is formed by the current greenery and the set-back from surrounded buildings. These two main factors orientate the refurbishing method: AN AIRY AREA LYING BENEATH A WIDE ROOF.

Friday, November 9th, 2018

Article source: LANDMAK ARCHITECTURE

NHÀ TẰM is one of the residential house projects being redesigned for improvements by Landmak Architecture company. The house is located in the high class Ciputra Hanoi urban area, with the original premises being constructed in bulk approximately 15 years ago. This house model has become out-of-date and obsolete nowadays, whereas the initial ventilation and lighting did not satisfy the utilizing demands for room functions. The house owners have implemented improvement, modification, renovation, decoration, etc., for many times but the house malfunctions have not been thoroughly resolved. Therefore they came to us in 2016 with the determination to bring a “makeover” to the house.
