In the world of design, time is of the essence. Every second counts to create stunning and innovative projects that leave a lasting impression. Because of this, designers need efficient, well-equipped tools to help them bring their visions to life faster than ever before. At Vectorworks, we understand this concept and have molded this necessity into our latest software release. Vectorworks 2024 takes an integrated approach to align with your natural design process. New features and enhancements were carefully structured to increase your productivity and empower you with comprehensive solutions for faster workflows from start to finish. So, what can you expect? Vectorworks 2024 has feature-focused improvements for everyone. Designers will experience an updated and modernized user interface, so now designing and working in the software is more efficient and easier to customize to your liking. Specifically, the reorganized View and Mode bars make accessing a wide range of tools and shortcuts easy. The ability to customize these bars means you can organize your workspace to suit your needs so you can save more time and simplify your design process. Designers will also experience the rebuilt Project Sharing tool. This feature ensures that your project data and geometry are always current, regardless of your team or project size. With Project Sharing+, every change is tracked every time, meaning there’s increased reliability and a smoother collaborative experience. The ability to save custom viewport settings as “styles” is another game-changer, making it easy to transfer settings between different sheets or project files. You don’t have to worry about replicating viewport settings, and it can reduce the risk of errors. You can also connect to external data with the newly added ability to create a two-way reference of data from native Excel files. This feature reduces manual steps and the risk of input errors, enhancing collaborative data capabilities and making it easier to work with external data. For Architects and Interior Designers In Vectorworks 2024, architects have more flexibility to unleash their creativity. BIM workflows have been upgraded with improvements to wall, windows, door and structural members. The Railing tool and Cabinet tool now have the flexibility and accuracy you need to create more custom configurations. This more efficient workflow includes styled objects and more creation options that interact with other model objects like slabs, stairs, and site models. Also, the Railing tool will support guardrails, handrails, and configurations designed to help you meet building code and accessibility standards. More accurate door and window documentation is another plus in Vectorworks 2024. Users can now take advantage of the detailed geometry for thresholds and sills that will fit better with wall closures. There are more options to control interior and exterior conditions, allowing for gaps around doors and windows to be controlled for each side of the opening. Additionally, door handing has been standardized, allowing more detailed geometry and data to support industry standards. Furthermore, new materials can now be assigned to doors and windows, guaranteeing more accuracy and consistency in visual representation and reporting, especially when considering material costs and embodied carbon calculations. Interior designers can look forward to designing stunning kitchens and bathrooms with new Parametric Cabinet tools. Now, you can create and customize configurations or easily replicate popular cabinet styles from additional manufacturers. Designers can easily layout and design built-in cabinetry for any space to create more realistic visualizations and accurate documentation. The building industry will also appreciate improvements to the Wall tool that allow designers to stay in their creative flow. The ability to switch between linear and curved wall modes seamlessly and apply multiple configurations of wall components offers more flexibility with less effort. Additional improvements to wall, slab and roof texturing also make applying textures to these architectural objects simpler, letting users focus on more complex construction details. For Landscape Architects and Designers Landscape architects and designers need the right tools at their disposal, and Vectorworks is dedicated to empowering them with intuitive design and creation tools so they can be active in the BIM process. In Vectorworks 2024, the new, automated Fence tool saves designers significant time while designing in both 2D and 3D. Plus, you’ll enjoy accurate material reporting and reduce the chance of errors in material specifications. This tool is optimized for simplified and detailed representations and supports integrated posts, gates, and terrain-conforming options like raked or stepped. Now, landscape designers have the necessary tools to design a complete fence project in 2D and 3D for more accurate documentation and better collaboration. Landscape design professionals will also experience better control over the graphical output of a site model snapshot with new Legends for Site Model Analysis so they can help clients understand annotations. This highly customizable color scale provides all the relevant information about slope ranges and elevation values. Additional settings let you display customizable site model data, which is perfect for reference or comparative analyses, and now you can easily visualize data and effectively make and communicate your design decisions. Unleash Your Creativity Biplab joined Vectorworks in 2000. He was made CTO in 2008 and has been CEO since 2016.
