Article source: Cox Rayner Architects

This soon-to-be-built project resulted from a design competition to conceive a new ferry terminal suite in the wake of the devastating 2011 Brisbane floods.

The aim of the project was to see if it were possible to design a flood-resilient ferry terminal to replace the 20 destroyed by the impact of water pressure and of debris crushing against the gangways and piles of the former terminals.

Article source: Moon Hoon

Bangdong is a famous place for sight seeing and leisure for near by dwellers. It can be quite crowded during the holiday seasons.

The irregular plot of land situated right in front of Bang dong lake boasts a beautiful open view of the lake and a low mountain as a back drop. When visited for the first time, the vacant site seemed to invite some kind of a sculptural object, unhindered by its neighbors, standing rather conspicuously.

ARKHE beauty salon in Chiba, Japan by Moriyuki Ochiai Architects

Tuesday, August 13th, 2013

Article source: Moriyuki Ochiai Architects

We designed a beauty salon named ARKHE (refers to the ancient belief that water is the source of all creation) around the theme of water.

This is a space made up by the charm of its raw materials, thus, by using aluminum and bringing out the beauty of the material we bring into existence a space filled with transient and ever-changing light, like the reflection of light on the surface of water.
Recycled aluminum sheet was used to express the flow of water and hair, reflecting the airily soft light, like sparkling light on water’s surface, and filling the space with elegant and sensual curves.
