The Curve is the flagship public building and the key community amenity in the on-going regeneration of Slough’s town centre, where over £45m of public investment has already been spent or committed to create an entirely new commercial district – The Heart of Slough. 11 DWELLINGS in Sainte-Eulalie, France by La Nouvelle Agence

Wednesday, March 12th, 2014

Article source: La Nouvelle Agence

The village of Sainte-Eulalie sits about twenty kilometers from Bordeaux (France). The site is at the edge of the rural town’s center. On the site, the corner building is rehabilitated, and ten new apartments are created on the remainder of the plot. Taken together, the individual dwellings define a housing block, larger than the original mansion, which frames a communal courtyard in the center. The proposal is careful to offer the best exposure for each building, and the highest quality of space for each apartment, as well as the collective spaces between dwellings.

Casa N/S in Bergamo, Italy by dep studio – architettura e design

Thursday, April 4th, 2013

Article source: dep studio – architettura e design

Casa N/S lies in the immediate vicinity of the old town of a village in the province of Bergamo. The plot is located in an area characterized by buildings without any great architectonic value, something that has made the architects decide to distinguish the building from its surroundings. The customer’s desire to build a home to leave to his children in the future has led to the realization of a building with two identical and independent units that share a number of facilities, as the tavern, the cellars, the garage and the garden.

The Beam in Villeneuve d’Asqc, France by MVRDV

Saturday, March 23rd, 2013

Article source: MVRDV

Villeneuve d’Ascq is a new town located near Lille in the very north of France. The Beam will be icon of a larger urban generation effort in the town centre which is currently characterised by parking lots, large volumes and undefined green spaces. On an urban level the masterplan aims at a more sustainable form of development by densifying the town centre and adding identity and diversity to the site. The creation of pedestrian zones, and the demarcation and connection of the existing green spaces together also form part of the plan.
