b+c house in Córdoba, Argentina by Barella Arquitectura

Monday, June 29th, 2020

Article source: Barella Arquitectura

The house is located in a parcel in the middle of a block of 30 x 50 m. with moderate slope that descends to the street. The place is at the foot of Córdoba´s hills, in the city of Villa Allende.

The House is born and takes its level on the back of the field, allowing it to raise and create a ‘balcony’ for the contemplation of the landscape; which is characteristic and a typical view of Córdoba. Its dialogue with nature is very strong, because the spirit of the place is linked to “nature”.

Tangent to the border between the village and the forest, this rocky house that rests on the base of a small hill stands up after some sliding down the slope. Its presence is the landmark of the entry into a deep and clear forest where, as the poet says, the walker becomes a prisoner of silence and greenery.

Villa korup in Funen, Denmark by Jan Henrik Jansen Arkitekter + Marshall Blecher

Monday, June 22nd, 2020

Article source: Jan Henrik Jansen Arkitekter + Marshall Blecher

Villa Korup was designed for a young family of six on the Danish island of Fyn after a fire destroyed their previous home.

The characteristic ‘three legged’ plan was developed in order to delineate the different aspects of the landscape, accentuating their qualities and creating three characteristic courtyard like spaces; a sunny south facing sloped area to the south, a protected kitchen garden to the east and an orchard cum playground to the west.
